I apologize if this was brought up....they just killed New Mexico by 16.  Makes you wonder had we beat them what this tourney could have been like :(

UAB may be better than we think too.  They had New Mexico beat twice.  Damn that late charge call on Biggs when Shields hit the 3 which would have tied the game.  Not that I'm bitter still :)

Hey,this is no time for perspective!  ;)

Instead, the sky is falling, even though another way to look at it is a 6 point loss at a neutral site to a veteran, talented team, with a bunch of inexperienced youngsters is actually sign of progress.  But no, it's better to not give UMass credit, and announce that the coaching sucked, a terrible decision was made to not re-recruit some dude named Fahro, and that we really struck out by not getting all those great players that were available in April last year.

Agree with you 100 percent HB... We are still a good team with a good coach.  Do we have work to do?  Yes.  Should we be 1-1 at least? Yes... have we showed our best in Charleston? NO!

I apologize for having expectations and believing we should do better than three stops in an entire half against an NIT caliber team that we will see 18 times in the Big 10. I refuse to do what we've done the last ten years - give ourselves credit for moral victories based on "good teams we played." I also think if we had Fahro, we'd be close to an NCAA Tournament team this year. Miles decided we didn't want him, and took Serg in his place. He wasn't going to recruit two "marginal" Bigs in the same class that late in the game. He chose Serg. Sure, we had one other scholly open, but he's not going to clog them on two "projects." He chose the wrong one - it happens. Nobody hits 100%. But I think its relevant for me to bring this up for the first time ever (I NEVER have) the day we play the guy and he lights us up. Correct me if I'm wrong on that being relevant or not.

Couldn't disagree with you more.  And to be this blatantly critical of new coach, and claim to be a big fan of said coach, seems really weird.

It's very possible to do both...as I stated in a different thread Roy Williams blew a game last week for his team and spent time after the game talking about it. I'd wager most NC fans still are big fans.

Now don't mind me, I'm going to go put my Creighton shirt on and see how much longer I can fool people into believing I care about Nebraska basketball.

A little much.

HHC dave you are 100% right, Segej was absolutely the wrong call and it burned us big time. Fahro would be our starting center and we would probably be 7-0 or 6-1 right now if he was on our team.

7-0 would be really amazing.  So would 6-1.  Especially considering we've only played 6 games (that count) so far.  ;)

I don't really have a problem with taking Vucetic as a project, especially considering we haven't filled up since he's been here.  It's pretty clear with hindsight that he should have also taken Fahro, but like Dave said, no one hits 100%.  Fahro would be a nice piece to have on this team.
