ajb5856 Posted September 2, 2013 Report Posted September 2, 2013 Elbert's short list: Ga Tech, Ohio State, Georgetown, and Nebraska according to this rivals article detailing his Georgia Tech visit. http://georgiatech.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1543891 Quote
huskerbaseball13 Posted September 2, 2013 Report Posted September 2, 2013 Might change but his top 4 right now according to Washut is NU, OSU, Ga Tech and Gtown. Lets show this kid some love next weekend. Quote
huskerbaseball13 Posted September 2, 2013 Report Posted September 2, 2013 Whoops, sorry ajb. Didn't see that you already posted his list. Quote
ShortDust Posted September 2, 2013 Report Posted September 2, 2013 He said he really enjoyed their football game and loved how it went, just wait until the weekend and he experiences the huskers environment. Granted I have not been to a G tech football game, but you got to figure ours is going to be a total 180. He's going to love his visit and with his new "four" short list that he stated, I think our major competition is OSU. We have to do everything we can to lock him down before he gets to that visit. I'm hoping he ends up here, but I don't know. Quote

I just hope that fact that he already has a relationship with one of our assistants coaches will go along ways along with the new facilities which are better than OSU's. I'm keeping my fingers crossed as you'll see my running up and down O street screaming if we land this kid. Quote
ShortDust Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 When is he visiting OSU? He has yet to decide that, but I would think it would be late September or early October. Quote

hhcmatt Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 It would seem of those 4 teams, GT and Nebraska have the best opportunities to offer in terms of needing big men. It would be odd if he wasn't our #1 priority. Georgetown is full on scholarships unless someone is going pro next year, which is possible. Ohio State possibly views him as a backup plan to better centers. I'm not sure I like our odds for signing him if we don't get him to commit this weekend. bobcat402 1 Quote
uneblinstu Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 Looking at OSU's football schedule, the only game on there between now and signing day that will be a better atmosphere than whe he'll see in Lincoln on Saturday is on Sept. 28 vs. Wisconsin. The two gamedays will be very similar, it shouldn't put one program ahead of the other. The only reason OSU would stick out is due to a recency factor. Both will blow him away him if he was "wowed" by Georgia Tech. Quote
Norm Peterson Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 Fellas, there's only 7 pages to this thread. Can we at least double it by this weekend when he visits? We're kinda losing our edge. 49r 1 Quote

ajb5856 Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 Interesting take here on Elbert Robinson by Casual Hoya. They seem perplexed as to why he would be wasting official visits on schools like Georgia Tech and Nebraska when Georgetown has been at the top of his list for a long time with Louisville and Ohio State being the Hoyas main competition. They ignore the Kenya Hunter factor and don't mention that Elbert recently cancelled his Louisville visit. He may schedule a Georgetown official but as of now I'm taking it as a positive that he hasn't scheduled with them yet and he has for us. Another positive in my mind is that Georgetown's class is full (yes they can still over sign by 1) and Elbert may be the backup plan at both Louisville and Ohio State. http://sbn.to/14g7Nip Quote
ajb5856 Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 Georgetown also seems confident that they will get a commitment from Paul White which would already put them over their scholarship limit by 1. Quote

kldm64 Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 Does anyone know what day he gets here and when he will leave? Was curious if will be here in time to attend the NU volleyball home match on Friday night as well as NU football game on Saturday. Any know the schedule for this weekend? I would hope we pull out ever red carpet we have for this kid and keep our fingers crossed. He said he wants to sign in November. We're competiting against the "who's who" in college basketball for this recruit. This would be a landmark signing if it happens. Quote
Norm Peterson Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 I thought the volleyball match was on Saturday. See my earlier comment about tall girls in spandex. Quote
Badgett Fan Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 I like how he's scheduled to be at TAMU for the Bama game. Doubt he ends up being an Aggie, but what a perfect way to take advantage of the recruiting experience. That will be the best environment and game he witnesses, regardless of where else he may go. Also, I think the Hoya folks are a bit too dismissive of Nebraska's chances, given that a definite reason as to why he was/is a Georgetown lean was an assistant who is now in Lincoln rather than D.C. Volleyball match was in St Louis I did see your earlier comments on the tall girls in spandex. Being a Vball season ticket holder, that is definitely a strong recruiting tool to use. The first home Vball game is on Friday night so was hoping he was going to be able to make for that as is it will be a very good atmosphere as well. There is also a home Vball game on Saturday afternoon at 1pm so maybe they can catch some of that as well and then head to the football game. Heck, let this kid in the woman's locker after the game if that it what it takes for him to sign. Quote
