Amy didn’t have much to say.  On our lack of three point shooting she surmised we get “tunnel vision” trying to take advantage in the post and forget about the threes.  We need to get healthy and come out firing against Iowa.

where were the shooters?   They were circling the perimeter with a defender almost inside their shirts.  Seldom could they get a screen or do a stop too quick for defender to stay alongside and then penetrate.  A little time is required to stop, get two hands on the ball, start a shooting motion and then fire.  Seldom did anyone have space enough to set up like that.  BP can't shine like she should as a distributor bc as she brings the ball across half court scanning for someone to pass to, too often no one got available by losing their defender.

Again we got out quicked in play after play in and near the paint.  Frequently I find myself thinking "if we had Potts and Weidner" ...but tonight I don't it would have made enough difference.

Couple of traveling calls were missed and it looked to me as tho a couple "offense vs defense" calls went the wrong way.  But overall officiating was good and didn't affect the outcome.  I sit below one fan and above another who very vocally criticize calls in opponents' favor all game long and repeatedly show thru their yelling that they don't know much about the game.

I havent been that stressed out at a game in a long time.

If teams dont see that being physical with us will get them a win then their coach isnt very smart. We just crumble in physical games. We just dont have the quickness or the moves to get free in a physical game.

That 1st half I wanted to walk on the court and smack that old guy ref. That number 11 was displacing AM so damn hard that it shouldnt of been allowed. I feel like that old guy has a problem with Nebraska.

I was telling dad as we walked back to the vehicle that it is so crazy that in todays world it seems like refs can totally predict the outcome of a game because its just been so inconsistent what the refs are going to allow from game to game.

We needed to be just as physical back to the teams which we did to the start of the 3rd Quarter but our guards are so dang small. Those Michigan guards dwarfed our girls.

But this is just another example of Amy Williams teams being middle of the road in the BIG. We will win some games we shouldnt and we will lose some games we shouldnt which will always put us in the middle. Love Amy but I will be excited when the day comes that we try to hire a proven coach from the power 5 to lead Nebraska. I dont see why we dont have the means to do that. Just like Volleyball I truly believe Womens basketball would pull a crowd always as well. Nebraska loves women sports.

Michigan completely remade their roster in one season. I only recognized one girl on the team that played here last year. They swiped a recruit for next year from us, so kudos to them. With NIL a team can be as competitive as they want to be. Last year TCU had to forfeit games and have open tryouts during the season because they couldn’t field a team. This year, the boosters opened up their checkbooks and they are in the top 10.  Women’s basketball is no different than football in that regard, but your money will go further in building a program in this sport.

So those of us at the game (not sure what was said by MC or on TV) noticed a large brace on Weidner's injured leg. I guess that confirms she will miss the rest of the season. I know there was some talk of not completely ruled out as it was said to be like a partial tear. The couple I sit by both think it is time for her to think of her future and call it a career playing BB. While I would like to still she her play I have to agree with them.

I believe that indicates that she had surgery last week which is why she was not on the road trip.

I totally agree with KarlHess on when we try to hire a proven coach from a power 5 to lead Nebraska.  Coach Williams is a nice coach  but will always have us in the middle of the pack.  As much as Nebraska loves women's sports,  I hope there is enough NIL money to go buy some difference makers.  Almost all of Williams transfer players haven't been impact players (with the exception of Jazz Shelly). She better get a well proven post player to replace Markowski or next year will be a dud.

Jaz came largely because of Izzy Bourne.  We absolutely must get some impact transfers.  We have big needs everywhere.

I don't follow women's bracketology as much as I do the men... but if it works relatively the same, the women are in a completely different boat than the men.

The women have virtually no quality wins on their resume to date. Especially with the way the Quads are set up for the women's game. We do have a couple Q1 wins (Iowa and MSU). Iowa does fall into the Q1A category. We're also 1-1 in Q2 with our win over Minnesota. But the majority of our work has really come in Q4 where we are 10-0. We are also 3-0 in Q3.

So while we are, I believe, pretty safe for the moment, our resume doesn't have a lot of bulk to continue losing good (Q1 & Q2) opportunities or take a hit with a Q3/Q4 loss or two. Skating on thin ice for a bit here.
