Markowski had a heck of a game tonight.

At times tonight we played as well as we have all season. At times we looked lost.  Nice job at the FT line and MSU heated up too late.  It’s a good win over a good team.

I have to give the ladies credit.  They looked like they might get beat 83-0, but got their ducks in a row and played really well until the last half of the 4th quarter to beat a pretty good team that came to Lincoln with a great plan to pressure NU.

 

Great to see Markowski get some mojo back.

 

Weidner looked more like pre-knee injuries Weidner - really aggressive.  Had a few too many turnovers, but both traveling calls on her were total BS.

 

Officiating, per usual, was horrendous...across the board.  But I will say, this is one of the first games I can remember when I felt NU got the benefit of several questionable calls to even things out a bit compared to the normal crapfest we witness.

So, if we had to play our best. then we didn't look lost. Or was MSU more lost?

Nice game for all once we woke up. Along with the good old Weidner shows us how it's done !

 

And the refs. They called the fouls this time on Mich St. And MSU paid for it. It did make a difference.

Point well taken, but MSU is by far the best team we have defeated.  After a rough start we played very well until MSU cranked it up late.

Loved what Allison Weidner brought tonight. And Markowski & Hargrove were tough, as well. Great win by the Big Red. GBR

That was a season-low for turnovers forced by MSU, at 15. For more than 2/3rd of the ballgame, it was at 8, I believe. The ending made it a bit too close for comfort, but a win nonetheless. By the way, NU forced 18 turnovers tonight. GBR

Nebraska being aggressive offensively helped to secure 28 for 35 on the FT line, which was basically the difference tonight as MSU had 3 players foul out as they were whistled for 27 fouls to 17 by NU. We all knew MSU would be aggressive defensively, but I think NU being very assertive on the offensive end of the court was huge. GBR

Man, that was fun...well  not the first five minutes, and not the medical event in the stands (that was handled professionally and quickly by the PBA staff and fire/police departments).  But we just beat a pretty darn team and took care of our home court!

This was a home win for us. I think we are pretty even with MSU. I would put this as a 50/50 game on a neutral court. I also think is this was in East Lancing it would have been a loss. Great to see us take care of home court.

A nice win and nice bounce back on the home stand. Three losses all to Top 25 teams so far. A resume situation where we’re playing our way in but not one where we can achieve a high seed. Many more opportunities though.
