Iowa (22-2) vs. Nebraska (15-8) Game Thread

My line of thinking.  Iowa is an elite team with, arguably, the best player that has come around the pike.  I want us to be competitive; but there is no way we can win.

Now, that said, if there is some way we get it done and win; then there will be pure ecstasy.

Heard an interesting opinion regarding these two teams and this game - if you took Iowa’s best player off their team (Clark, obviously) and took Nebraska’s best player off their team (Jaz or Alexis, take your pick) and then had the two teams play each other straight up? Nebraska would stand a very good chance of beating a Clark-less Iowa team. But with #22 in the lineup? Forget about it. Not only do we have no offensive answer for the 30+ points that Clark will almost certainly score, but she makes her teammates much better with her assists and being able to create open shots for the other 4 Iowa players due to the defensive attention she attracts.
Thoughts?

Hundreds of Iowa fans in line early today.

I’m not surprised. If she can, I’m guessing she’ll go for the record today.

I get what you’re saying, but if she breaks the record on Super Bowl Sunday it’ll just be a blip on the sports radar screen today, just a footnote. If she waits to break the record for her next game, it’ll be in front of a home crowd and it’ll be THE sports story of that day and the entire next day.

Our shooting % picked up a little as the game went on.  Certainly had some bad offensive possessions in the 1st Q.  This was about the place the game was when we played them in Iowa City.  Iowa ended up winning by 19, so we'll see what happens.  The energy certainly is in PBA, in the stands and on the court.  Hopefully we can have plenty of it in the 2nd half.  GBR!
