If Blaise Keita is granted a medical redshirt, then he'd still have the redshirt option as well. It's a long shot, since so many players have already had an extra year, but there is a football player at the U on his 9th year of school. Wild.

That's not how medical redshirts work, you don't apply for them after one year of injury.

If he sat out for another year for whatever reason or, with Blaise, if he got injured before the team had played a certain number of games, then he'd be able to apply for a medical redshirt when his eligibility ran out.

Ramel Lloyd could be looking at a medical redshirt in the future, assuming he can convince the NCAA he was injured this year.

It is certainly a possibility that Blaise and/or Ramel can do so at the end of his eligibility. That's fairly well understood, either guy could definitely get a medical *some* day.

We have two bigs, in Blaise and Diop, that will likely require us to change both our offense and defense in order to create a fit.  It certainly can be done, as their games more closely with the way DW played last season.

So it will be interesting to watch.

How NU has utilized its player's skill has been a thing of beauty in the past couple of seasons, for certain. I can't wait to see how the next couple of seasons play out, including the one we're watching unfold. It's been a rollercoaster ride, per usual. But, historic is how I describe some of the things being accomplished. Rienk Mast has been such a valuable member of the squad, I sincerely hope he's still 'N' in 2024-25. GBR

Had 27 tonight, need 25 more.

I'd assume we won't get there against Michigan but we'll see.

After 28 games:

Mast 79 assists (in 26 gm)

J-Law 74

Brice 68

After 30 games:

Mast 83 assists (in 28 gm)

J-Law 77

Brice 72

On another note, Brice is averaging 29 min/gm while Mast is at 30 min/gm. But I believe Brice may end up surpassing Mast for the team's leader in minutes per game, especially after the last ballgame being 37 min. for Brice and only 24 min. for Mast, that is, if this type of trend were to continue. The present difference is 28 min. in favor of Brice with Brice having played 2 more games than Mast. Worth denoting that Brice Williams is the only dude on the roster to have started all 30 games, and became the starting PG halfway through the Big Ten schedule - no small feat.

What adds to Brice's minutes is his versatility.  Yes, he is our starting PG; but he is also backing up at both the 3 and 4 positions in certain line-ups.

That's why he will overtake Mast, he's a beast. Brice is nice.

Id sure like to see him take the ball to the rim more often....  That last game against Rutgers I felt he could have really attacked the hoop more!

We broke our conference scoring record of 1423 points set in 2021-22.  Currently we're at 1428 points.

Pretty eye opening to think that Caitlin Clark would account for 68% of those points this season.

* 42% for conference points (not including her final B1G conference game and BTT game)

She has scored 1,000 in conference play?

A requirement for our bigs going  forward is being able to pass the ball. HCFH has seen the value of this skill set the last 2 seasons, especially when teams play zone.

I would think after putting two full seasons of tape out there with how we use our bigs we're gonna be at or near the top of those type of bigs of some pretty good ones 😀
