couldn't watch the game live. i admit, didn't even search for a score during the early afternoon. late in the day, hit facebook and the first thing on the page was the husker pic and score. no lie, i did a double take.....a big double take. 

 

watched the replay late after the facebook search. i have nothing at all against Brady and i really commend her for all she has gone through, but, i like starting Krull and having Moriarity off the bench much better. it was my preference all along. 

 

uh, was this announcing duo one of the worst ever? wow. they may be just starting out, no idea........but, wow.

Do you know why Brady did not make the trip?  Is she injured?  We managed well without her, but another healthy body on the bench, wouldn't hurt.

Watched the game replay.  Viewing it after the fact .....we really had good control of the game most of the time. We never let up.....were competitive all the time.  Impressive.

Seemed to get more and more dominate.  In about the middle of the 3rd qtr, you could see who was dictating the flow of the game.

 

Observation: Maryland doesn't seem to play strong defense, at least yesterday anyway.  Don't cover the perimeter. (So we had many open shots, and lanes open to the basket.) They play like they can beat you with their offense almost alone.  (familiar?)  When that couldn't happen consistently, they kind of lost focus.  Lot of whining going on. They didn't look like some past Frese teams.  For their size, don't rebound hard.   Not an organized offense, kind of one on one.. BBall.  They were hitting the panic button when we kept getting the lead. Not impressed with the All B1G Diamond Miller. She traveled most times she had the ball, ran over our defenders like a linebacker. Just an off day maybe.... she was not really a factor. Took us too lightly ?

They'll have to regroup and play defense too, or it might be a long season for them. 

 

We made so many unreal shots, and hit the lanes to the basket.  And made them.   Also impressive.  Everyone did their part, Jazz, Allison, Alexis....were great.

But everyone contributed and made a difference.  Great team win.  Maddie belongs on the court. Too high a  BBall IQ to gather splinters

 

Enough diatribe's .  Just super impressed yesterday

I think we are just starting to see having Maddie on the court pay dividends. She may not always show up in the stat line but her time at SD is proving to be a real asset for us. With Sam unable to play or maybe limited having her leadership is a big plus. I also agree with having Maddie in the starting line up. Jaz, Issie, and Maddie all had 30+ minutes yesterday.

She got elbowed in the forehead rather severely by a Virginia Tech player early in that game and went to the floor.  As Bugeaters said it was probably a concussion and is under protocol which can take a week or more.  With her past history they have to be extra careful.

I missed the first 3 quarters (and half the fourth :Redface: ) BUT;  my Heart Thanks ME! :Timeout:

HAPPILY THERE IS REPLAY ON BTN+ (and we can watch the whole game, without pressure :Lol:)

"Obviously a lot of disappointment in our locker room, and rightfully so. We knew how good Nebraska is and they obviously showed it. We knew they were going to come in hungry after their disappointment in their loss to Virginia Tech. I thought they exposed us in every way possible. We obviously knew they could shoot the three and I thought they had a great gameplan to drive and kick and rebound, it was really, really impressive. The second half was obviously pretty disappointing. Fatigue obviously played a factor in this game, but it isn't the reason why we lost…Obviously, there are areas for us to be able to learn in. I think we're disappointed in our defense, we weren't able to bring that. You can have tired legs and not be able to shoot the basketball on offense, but the defensive side is probably the most disappointing." 

 

🤔 fatigue? what.......were you still out celebrating from beating ND???

 

i was sooooo glad to see them stick it to Diamond Miller after her antics when she hit the winning bucket against Notre Dame.

Ugh, Bluder. 😒  Been a while since NU beat her, hasn’t it? I know we went 0-3 against her last season. And then to add insult to injury, she takes the top high school recruit in the state of Nebraska (Taylor McCabe)  That stung like an angry hornet 😣
