big red22 Posted November 5, 2017 Report Posted November 5, 2017 Don't sleep on this years team Quote
rwhiston Posted November 5, 2017 Report Posted November 5, 2017 I ran into Walt this summer. I asked him what he saw in this team since I knew he was working out some with them. He smiled and said it should be a fun year. He went into some detail about how players were progressing and the whole time you could tell he was excited. Quote
Huskerpapa Posted November 5, 2017 Report Posted November 5, 2017 I love Walt. Yet, it is still a bit surprising to me that he is still close to the program. I love that he is, but given the way he departed, it is....at least a bit weird. Quote

Apparently, not as bad as I feared. I've been told Walter has grown up some since that experience. It's good to see not only that he wants to be around the program but that he feels welcome. I think his presence disproves all this stuff we'd heard from certain corners about how "everyone hates Miles and can't wait to get out of the program." hhcmatt and Red Don 2 Quote
Handy Johnson Posted November 5, 2017 Report Posted November 5, 2017 I hate to draw parallels between eras, but here goes. I remember when the 90/91 squad hung 100 on Illinois @ the San Juan shootout and everyone was like WHOA, where did that come from? (Illinois was coming off a recent Final Four) but here we are again. No one NOT sitting on a Lincoln bar stool expects us to do squat, but this team is gonna be sneaky good and there will be a handful of WTF moments during the Non-Conference schedule. Bank on it. jayschool and Red Don 2 Quote
hskr4life Posted November 5, 2017 Report Posted November 5, 2017 That is good to hear that he is "grown up" if true. It also might be a good advocate for a "stay the course" type of speech from someone who has been there and don the wrong thing. Quote

I feel Walt made a dumb mistake leaving early and it's unfortunate the NCAA wouldn't let him return. I think he's a nice guy and I'm glad Miles didn't write him off and has welcomed him back as part of the program. Cowboy Kermit, Silverbacked1, Norm Peterson and 4 others 5 2 Quote

BugeaterZ Posted November 8, 2017 Report Posted November 8, 2017 Walt is in the house tonight. He's sitting about a dozen rows in front of me. Quote
REDZONEDAN Posted November 8, 2017 Report Posted November 8, 2017 Yep I see him in Section 104. Good to see him on board after leaving after his Junior year. Very strange situation there. Quote
