No idea how interested we were/are.....but things look pretty bleak on the big man chase unless Miles and the staff is playing it pretty close to the vest.  Just not a whole lot of news out there.

We had to have been interested...he obviously wasn't. We're maybe 50-60% of the way through the transfer season...there are still fish in the sea and still secondary options.

This is becoming Deja Vu all over again.

 

There are going to be 700+ transfers + any remaining HS kids for our 3 scholarships...we're going to strike out a lot, especially when we go after kids that are in high demand.

Yep I'm not worried. There wasn't any strong evidence that we were even involved with this kid beyond maybe calling to inquire.

Dimes I understand that and sooner or later one will say yes.  That said there were 700 last year we got no big.  I am not giving up though.

Have we contacted Daniel Giddens, transfer from Ohio State? 6'10, went to Oak Hill, has 3 years remaining.

 

Intra-conference transfers are frowned upon. And the player loses an entire year of eligibility to do so, which means that he sits a year and then would have 2 years left.

We lost out on him to Tulsa/Danny Manning back in the day, so the staff is familiar with him.

 

Upside: Immediately eligible, can shoot from the 3, seems to be a good rebounder, draws contact at a decent rate, wants to play at a higher conference level

Downside: Post player that doesn't really have post moves, turnover prone
