Nana let his brothers down this past season. It is also a culture situation. He has to earn back that lost trust and he has to fit into the new culture. Both of those "issues" will be much more difficult to overcome than improving his offensive and defensive games. Would I like for him to succeed. Sure. Do I expect him to succeed...I am much less sure. We shall see.

Looks like it might be about time to welcome Doc back!
Huskerpapa replied to PimpMario's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
See Brian Rosenthal's other Tweets LOL. I remember attending a practice and dang, I wish I could remember the player, but Doc just lit him up after he jacked up a three. He screamed something akin to "the way you play defense, you have not earned the right to take that kind of shot" -
I mentioned this earlier. Those on the roster and those being recruited likely know exactly where they stand. That is why there are going to be a lot of ebbs and flows this off-season. Those that stay with the Huskers, will stay because there is a collective understanding between player and staff. Those leaving will also likely have a collective understanding between player and coach. Sort of interesting, these discussions take place whenever there are coaching changes. I heard Doc talk about this in his radio interview, he indicated some of his players stayed around and were an important part of the NCAA run made by Coach Miles. I hope some of these Miles recruits/players will be an important cog in our next NCAA run.

Yeah, his 20 + yard punt in the spring game was likely not the send off that he wanted. Listen the kid came in expecting to redshirt. Then, the unthinkable occurred and he was thrust into a no-win situation following the untimely death of Sam. I wish him well.

2018 F Ed Chang (Papillion-LaVista)
Huskerpapa replied to AuroranHusker's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
I apologize in advance...this kid is a pin ball, bouncing from location to location. Sort of reminds me of another Omaha kid who has bounced around quite a bit. -
Looks like we will be getting a new floor at the PBA next season. In March the fans will get an opportunity to chime in on the design as well. Perhaps this is old news, but I just ran across this article in the LJS. https://journalstar.com/news/local/govt-and-politics/arena-purchasing-new-basketball-floor-fans-will-weigh-in-on/article_b6171282-2f48-5e61-a57e-eb0c9ccc8487.html

2019 SF Kendall Lewis -> Appalachian State

It will be really interesting to see if Amir develops his outside game under the careful eyes of this staff. If he does, oh baby. Oh BABY. -
Wait...again, how do we know we are close with Mack?

Nana like Thor are N until they are definitively out. Same with Isaiah in my mind. We shall see how things shake out but we cannot fill scholarships that are already filled. That said, I am pretty sure our staff will have contingency plans and I am also sure they know more about comings and goings then we do..

This made me very happy...and yes, I even teared up a bit. Good for Tiger, great for golf!

...and I am still HAPPY!

Man...if Ty Lue was stressed in Cleveland, I cannot imagine the stress that LaLa land will create.

I guess it is all relative. QB's wore green jersey's (rightly so). Since they couldn't get hit, it is hard to gauge. I do believe we have much better depth, and we certainly looked bigger. It was hard to really project speed. I think people have to listen to the coaches. They have provided honest evaluations which includes the comment that we still have a ways to go to get to where we need to be. So the trip continues and from a positive perspective, we are on the right track.

There is also a possibility that the million dollar figure was not set in cement (hard to write that) and a bit more money may have been available.
-
Hey we won today...but then again, we lost.today as well. Okay all joking aside, I really wasn't that impressed, but it was simply a practice. Yes, there were good things, and yes, putting limitations on the QB's greatly limits the offense. The defense also had moments. But one walks away wanting more. I have increased expectations and will simply need to wait until the team is present (in total) in the fall and see how things shake out.

I will never, ever forget attending practices with Doc at the helm. Mercy! With Doc, unless you defended with your heart and soul and every fiber of your being, you did not earn the right to shoot the ball on offense. Still makes me chuckle.

Mayor 'Go Big Fred' Hoiberg Hoops
Huskerpapa replied to AuroranHusker's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
To be fair, the reason the comparison came to light (and was mentioned on the Ticket and on BTN) was because a teammate, Damion Daniels, was asked if any Big 12 players reminded him of Adrian. He mentioned Mahomes. Also, note that as good as Mahomes is, he did not win big in college due to lack of difference makers and defense surrounding Mahomes. Hopefully we will surround Adrian with the talent that allows him to break out and be great. -
Nicely done Cip. Although some of the rhetoric on this site did indeed get out of hand. It was more than simple debate or providing different perspectives. I know one exceptional loonnnnggg time poster on this site, decided to quit because of some of the treatment. When we lose somebody with his knowledge and inside information, it makes it hard for me to accept. Luckily he emails/texts me with his information which is greatly needed and appreciated. We have gone through this each time there is a coaching change. It will be interesting sifting through some of the opinions when Doc was terminated, especially since he is coming back. I giggled when I read in a local newspaper that Doc was beloved. Yeah. He was by many, but there also was a group that vehemently supported his firing. And you know what, the firing was likely warranted. But just like when Tim was fired, there were a number of people on this site, and other boards, who could not simply support a change, but had to light Doc up in negative terms when the end came into site. Just saying...as we pat ourselves on our back.

Wow...nice win. Check that, excellent win! -
I'm too lazy to look, when is our Italian trip? I anticipate roster activity until then, or shortly before then. This is going to be a wild and exciting ride to next season.
-
This is the first time I have said this...but yes, I do think he is gone...if it serves his best interest.

So, has Dachon definitively said he is N?
