One twit’s opinion with a paper with less and less subscribers everyday!

uneblinstu's postgame chatter: vol 14; ed 7 - vs. South Dakota

Brady Heiman DNP Is he hurt or just fell that far down the depth chart? -
I got 5 minutes to interview him his first year here for my business management class at UNL. That first year here was so much fun as a student after the Slow-Moe era ended.
-
Having a slicer down the lane like Verge and 3-4 sharp shooters on the floor with him will present big problems for defenders.
-
Huge HUGE upgrade! Listening to Coach on his show last night has got me really pumped for this season.

What will our rotation look like next year?

One thing about many (but not all) media reporters and writers is that they have big egos. Because they have that “degree” they feel they are more knowledgeable then the average Joe. Not just about sports but about other topics like politics, etc too. They especially take it personal when a message board poster or social media poster corrects them. Insecurity is a big thing too when they are wrong in the era of media cutbacks too. -
Maybe time to start thinking about roundball now

I was thinking the same thought this morning…. -
I am really excited for this year. The chemistry amongst the players seems to be off the charts compared to the previous 2 years. There seems to be a respect and cohesiveness that wasn’t talked about before. The talent on paper is way beyond our talent the last few years.
-
I could care less about that. Not going to waste my time watching it either!

He meets the criteria of being a Nebraska guy. I thought that was the main criteria for being an AD. That was the bash against Bill Byrne. Moos got a pass because he brought Scott Frost back… Some people will never be happy. He’s been an AD for 12 years so he has the experience. Give the guy a chance.

I love the athleticism and confidence! -
At first glance, definitely more upside than Kevin Cross in what you would want your 5 to do (nothing against Kevin).
-
Let me the first to call him by his new nickname “Andre The Giant”

Glad to hear the Fred is okay. Now everyone can take a deep breath and get some sleep (and wash your hands and don’t sleep with your hands around your face!)

Looks like it might be about time to welcome Doc back!

Great having Doc back! -
Can you imagine an explosive backcourt with Mack and Green? Imagine how many dishes Roby would get from a slasher to the hoop like Mack too! I hope these players have an idea of the fan support they will have here! After playing in sparsely attended gyms throughout their JUCO year, THE VAULT will knock their socks off.

Turned on the Celtics & Cavs game 7 in the 4th quarter - had to turn it off with 3 minutes left it was so unwatchable. Far cry from the NBA I remember. I won't even watch the finals. Not my game. I'll stick to college basketball.

I don’t think they were faking that. He ingrained himself over the offseason with his teammates through his hard work.[emoji106]

I am really excited about this season. After seeing how everything settled after the transfers, I think things have worked out as well as we could have hoped for in terms of roster management
-
After hearing his interview on Sports Nightly, I have to say I'm impressed with him. Good hire. Professionally, it is a P5 school giving him a nice bump in pay but also a chance to mold some very talented young players (Especially Watson). I like his experience running the offense for Butler the last 2 years too...
-
Wow! Looks and sounds like a great kid

I like this hire. This is similar to what happened with Kevin McKenna when he was coach @ Indiana State. He left a head coaching job there to go back to being an assistant to Dana Altman at Oregon because of the chemistry between the two and the pay differential. The nice thing is that Miles is not taking a chance on a young inexperienced assistant just because he has had a personal friendship with someone or because he came from Nebraska. He is taking a coach with a wealth of experience and success - who, oh by the way, has a lot of the same basketball philosophies as Miles it appears.
