C'mon triple overtime!!!!
-
Maybe, but my goodness that's a bad basketball team.
-
Depends. If Baylor gets matched up with a disciplined, experienced, team that can play some defense, they'll be in big time trouble.
-
Probably Fort Worth, too.
-
Very cool. Good for them. Hope they do well. I think they'll be competitive in the Summit when they can join the post season fray. I like what Hansen does. Wonder if he'll get a shot at a bigger school. He's a great coach.

You mean the Charleston Classic helped us??? The Don Haskins tournament wouldn't of helped? Shocker. And playing at Creighton and Cincinnati, yep.

Nebraska 2014-2015 (Could very dangerous team)
uneblinstu replied to Hoops_Legend's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I'd anticpate we'll be on the road, too, but with both conferences adding teams, I'd assume there will be a bit of a reset as to who hosts and who doesn't. That's why I think a trip to Duke or UNC or Syracuse or Louisville could be in the works, especially since the ACC had a suprise team win their league they might do a top Big Ten team play them and have us play a top ACC team. -
Just finished watching the replay of the Wisconsin game on DVR...

If this is your thing, the Wisconsin broadcast can be found here. There's an RSS link, too so you can download them as a podcast. Wish the Huskers did this. Pretty sweet. http://www.thebig1070.com/media/podcast-badger-mens-basketball-Badgermensbasketball/ -
We did. I am glad he didn't say we actually needed to win any of those games. I know, right? I think a bunch of those teams turned out to be better than expected. UMASS, Cincy specifically. I wonder how big the Georgia win ends up being in the end. It kinda evened out though. I think a lot of thought FGCU could be decent and at least win their conference. Also we know Miami would take a step back but not that BIG of a step back. I don't know, I wasn't shocked by either of those things, honestly. Miami lost basically everything and FGCU lost their two biggest leaders in Brown and their coach. But, you're probably right. It mostly evened itself out.

Husker Hoops Watch Party - Rococo - B1G tourney edition
uneblinstu replied to Nebrasketball's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I'd imagine there will be small to medium watch parties at just about every sports bar across the state. -
"It's not definitive, but if you're getting towards the bubble, you better make sure you've at least shown some initiative to play some teams in the nonconference schedule or then it could become an issue," I think we did that.

Nebraska 2013-2014 WILL be a dangerous team

I'm definitely filling out a bracket that has NU winning it all. -
Nebraska 2014-2015 (Could very dangerous team)

UVA, Pitt, Clemson, are my front runners. I wonder how receptive they are to the idea of pairing a blue blood with an up and comer. Like Duke vs. NU and UVA vs. MSU. Something like that I could see them doing. -
That's an easy fix.

Nebraska 2014-2015 (Could very dangerous team)

I think a lot of that will depend on how the next two to three weeks go. If we lose on Friday then in the first round, then we might not, but if we get to the semis of the BTT and win a game or two in the big tournament, then I'd imagine we will be. Random tangent, I'll be curious to see who they pair us with in the B1G/ACC challenge. -

Paying out a bonus for criteria that wasn't met is pandora's box. Dude's gonna get paid. It shouldn't be an issue.

You mean besides winning 3 of the last 4 road games right? Yes we started slowly, but this team is learning how to win. I would say the only road game we played well enough to win a tournament game would be MSU. Indiana was close. NW we'd get blown out I'll be curious to see how many NU fans show up in Indy. I think they're pretty locked in. As long as there isn't an overwhelming disparity in fan number, I don't anticipate the fact that we're not at PBA to be a detriment. If NU fans represent well, I'd expect that to energize the quys quite a bit.

Will Miles change his preferred style to win games? You betcha. Are you telling me that Miles wants to play man D and motion on offense and wants guys that run these things? How exactly is that not a system? Once again, system doesn't have to mean "lesser players". Also, I'll say that style and identity are two different things.
-
Doc didn't. It was his downfall. He had no plan for what sort of team he wanted to put together and if he had one, he didn't execute that plan. Of course you need talent, I'm not saying you don't, but you can't just recruit highly ranked guys and throw them on the floor. Kentucky's trying it and it's not really working well. If they kept those guys together for a couple of years they might be a dynasty. The one year they did win it all, they bought into Calipari's plan. When you get to a point like Wisconsin or Michigan or Michigan St. or Duke or Kansas where you have success over a period of time, you can get high level players to plug into that system and that's when you become a program. Establish an identity, build a system, recruit the most talented players you can that fit what you want to do. You saw hit here what happened when you removed a very talented player that didn't fit the system.

Don't need to travel or have any access to players and coaches, just a place for conversation. -
Are you going to the NCAA tourney?
uneblinstu replied to FredsSlacks's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Not in the cards this year, but I'd road trip to any of the sites without hesitation if I was able to.
