  1. Yeah, but a disciplined defense can give them fits. That's us. Bring your defensive game, NU will have a very good shot to win this thing.
  2. The conventional wisdom was that it was easier to convince seniors to come to a team with a shot at the tourney, well...
  3. I think that is good news, that means games today don't matter so no one can steal a seed. Would they send a camera crew to Lincoln if we weren't in? Sure. Not every team they'll have camera's at will make the tournament. Happens every year.
  4. Of course, Benny got propelled into the goal standard right in front of a ref, and that didn't matter. Yeah, but the ref that called the traveling wasn't on the floor at the time...
  5. In fairness, the Jays aren't measuring this season in conference titles.
  6. Palm has us as a 10 seed, still vs. Memphis opposite Kansas in St. Louis. Has Iowa "On the Bubble". NU doesn't have that designation.
  7. Yeah, I had to read them a couple of times, too. He's not wrong, btw.
  8. It even looked like the ref felt bad about having to make that call on Shields. But it happened right in front of him.
  9. Only games that could possibly impact NU are the Toledo/W. Michigan game. Toledo has a solid RPI, but that's about it. I wouldn't expect they get in as an at large, but I'd rather not take the chance because W. Mich. definately doesn't get in. And then, of course, Providence and Creighton.
  10. Gosh, we all haven't been on the same page since...I don't even know when. #apocalypse
  11. This is where I'm sitting, too. Would also allow Hammonds to grow without having to be the guy right away.
  12. See, you're getting the hang of this Twitter thing in no time!
  13. Is Benny and Shavon in foul trouble? My answer kinda hinges on that.
  14. Wish there was a way to get Ubel in on this. There will be a day for that. Dude's got s few years left in Europe to play out, though. Who needs sleep? He can burn the midnight oil with the time difference. Even youths grow tired and weary. BTW, when I say "youths", I say it like this.

  16. Not sure St. Louis is that great of a matchup. They're experienced and disciplined. That could be a tough challenge for us. I'd rather play an athletic team that plays without that discipline. I think we'd frustrate the daylights out of 'em.

  18. Mike, I'd love to see this happen. Really appreciated the post game show yesterday. I think this basketball season has been where you guys at 93.7 have found your stride, or niche, per se. I think it took the station a while to find that and with the market shifting in Omaha, you guys seemed to have pounced here in Lincoln. Keep up the good work. I'd be very interested to see a post game show develop next season.
  19. I've heard the junior from Norfolk, Hagedorn, has heard from some coaches, too. I thought he looked pretty good yesterday. Had a little Wes Wilkinson in him. Struggled from the line a bit. will need to get quite a big stronger, obviously. The big frosh, Strom, is a bit of a puppy, but he's got all the tools, finished in some serious traffic at times. He's going to be a beast over the next three seasons. Coach Reis has a bit of a program there. He's figured something out and has turned out some pretty good players from that relatively small community. They knew exactly what they wanted to do. Ran out of gas last night after playing three overtimes the night before.
  20. Evidently Miles said there would be an event in the post game.
  21. Damn. - There's so much that happened in this one that it's difficult to know where to start. - Knew OSU would come out swinging to start the game and the did. Thought NU handled that well. - Then to be up 3 at the half was a big boost. - NU owned the first half of the second half and I though we were off and rolling, getting up 18. NU completely controlled everything about this game. - The game changed when Petteway and Pitchford tried to go for the alley-oop. That probably breaks the back of OSU, but instead it led to a 3 point play for OSU. That completely changed the game right there. - NU had a ton of trouble getting the ball into the paint after that point, too. - What was with all the trouble getting the ball in bounds? That was bizzare. They probably don't lose the game if the get that figured out. OSU switched to face guarding after makes and NU couldn't handle it. - I'll be interested to see how NU handles this disappointment with a week or so to think about it before their next game. They should still be in, but this is really disappointing. - I'll let you do all do the complaining about Craft and the officials...
  22. Has there been any buzz about how well the fans will travel? Haven't heard anything, really. I see red in the stands tonight but guessing it's mostly Indiana fans. Or Ohio St.
