  1. Michigan demonstrating why it’s good to have some big guys on your team. But hey...you don’t need big guys when you want to just play hero ball.
  2. Would love KU and OU....no thanks on Texas.
  3. Hes a guy we can’t afford to lose. Our starting rotation is still pretty brutal. With that said, it may not be injury. It could be Silva/Erstad toying with him again like they have done since he arrived on campus. Either make him a starter or the closer and commit to it.
  4. Hoiberg is not coming from what I’ve heard. I’ve heard Bobby Hurley’s name though. We are going to shell out some money if we get our man.
  5. Roby is not a 5 and never should have been forced to play the position. Jordy Tshimanga is someone who Miles said recently he should have never let back on the team. Me thinks he had an inkling or even pushed Jordy out the door. But you’re right, big man recruiting probably isn’t on the top of the list of failures. Miles inability to develop and/or put together a team that can shoot the ball probably takes the cake.
  6. Yet, multiple people on this board think we will actually be good next year if Miles is retained. Like ncaa good. So how does that make sense? It more so has to do with Miles years and years of striking out or not recruiting a big man. It’s even harder to recruit when opposing coaches can point to our struggles on the court under Miles and his struggles developing an offense.
  7. Thats a lot of ifs and certainly some wishful thinking. If Miles actually recruited a bench maybe the Copeland injury wouldn’t have been a dagger? True...maybe 100% isnt on Miles. But about 95% of it is and certainly enough to realize that his potential firing is for good reason.
  8. Must be urban legend because Erstad did not have his degree when he was hired by Osborne. Unless it’s not required to be a baseball coach for some reason.
  9. This is said every year. You may have a point now but even when the weather warms up we are nothing but a mediocre ball club under Erstad. Im not sure why we should expect anything different at this point. I’ll wait until he actually proves something on the field. I still see the same issues that has plagued us for years. Minimal power, questionable pitching depth.
  10. Stiff competition no doubt. But, this is to be expected under Erstad.
  11. Yes, I did not listen to the segment. More so responding to the OP and saying we may not have ever put appropriate resources into the basketball program. I feel we have enough resources now to be better in year 7. Miles has failed and it has nothing to do with resources IMO. There are many other directions I would go before bringing up resources
  12. Maybe I’m missing it....but what resources is Miles and this staff lacking right now? This excuse has grown old. I would buy in if this was Nebrasketball under Collier and Doc and we were still playing in the Bob and no practice facility. I would buy in if Miles wasn’t expected to make 2.5 million next year and if we didn’t open up the checkbook to get a guy like Lewis. At the end of the day, Miles had a team in 2015 that was expected to make the big dance and he went under .500. Miles has a team that was expected to make the big dance this year and is on the verge of going under .500. If resources are an issue(I don’t think they are)....it’s not the main issue. If the “resource” issue revolves around Miles contract situation my argument to that is 90% of this board loves Miles current recruits. It would be nice if we hired an AD that will be around ten years with his guy but we won’t have that luxury this time around either.
  13. Miles may very well leave Nebraska with a losing record overall. I’m not sure sure he is >>>>Doc or Collier. And he does have an offensive coordinator. His name is Mike Lewis. Either Lewis has failed to live up to expectations or Miles has not given him full reign. Either way...we just don’t have enough shooters. That’s a recruiting issue.
  14. Could have stole one with Edwards having a bad day. But, like we have seen far too many times...we rely on hero ball down the stretch and force up bad shots. Looking more and more likely Miles finishes under .500 again.
  15. But how would we recruit Iceland then? Im all for getting the best players regardless of where they are from. But considering the questionable bench players Miles has recruited and the fact that he leaves his team empty handed every year.....yep, we could have used some of the Nebraskans that went else where.
  16. We could pay 2.5 Million for the next coach and it still wouldn't mean that basketball is on the "back burner."
  17. Basketball has been on the back burner based on what exactly? Sure maybe a decade ago...but not now.
  18. If we can play .500 ball over the next few weeks it will be a huge win.
  19. I’m sure Kent has been won over by Miles gift of gab. And they seem to have a great working relationship. But at the the end of the day it’s about results. And after 7 years Miles is trending towards 5 losing seasons out of 7.
  20. When you have a major Nebrasketball donor calling for Lewis to become interim coach on twitter....the end is near. Miles must be dreaming about his demise.
  21. Any chance Buzz Williams would be looking to move on again? He gets paid pretty well at Va Tech but if we up the ante would he listen?
  22. To be fair, 2 of the 3 coaches had one hand tied behind their back. Miles is the only coach who had all the necessary resources to succeed. And no, I don’t buy that Eichorst/Moos and whoever else are responsible for his shortcomings that may result in 5 losing seasons out of 7. Nebraska is a tough job, but Miles is out of his league. We have looked sloppy on the offensive end every year under Miles. A team that lacks fundamentals and poor development. Just have to hope we finally land the right guy. It’s just unfortunate we wasted the shine of PBA on a guy who could not take advantage of it.
