This is the only second game ive been able to watch........so far I've been very impressed with our coaches. I really like our spacing on offense thus far and feel its light years ahead of what it was in the previous years. I think in the upcoming years when we have more guys to work with that fit this offense it could be pretty fun basketball to watch. I of course was encouraged with Doc early on because his kids player very hard for him....but so far, I think Miles is going to bring a brand of basketball to Lincoln we all can enjoy and the guy knows how to sell sell sell. Get thru this year Husker fans and then enjoy the ride!

Anything can happen, but I'm not seeing a win vs Creighton this year. Creighton struggles against athletic teams and we really only have 1 guy who I could see drive them fits...and thats Gallegos. And hes hit or miss. Obviously, add in Biggs and the transfers and its probably a different story. Creighton will continue to play crappy defense and live and die by the 3 it appears. They have alot of shooters no doubt, but nobody no guards who can drive and score. They always talk about "getting over the hump" and IMO this method isnt going to get it done. Bad news for them is their recruiting isnt any different. They are recruiting a bunch of shooters who athletically look pretty subpar. They will get their wins this year thanks to a mediocre schedule and they can fill up the basket with 3's if they are on. But if they really want to get to the next step they all love to talk about they need to start recruiting a different type of player. And so far, McDermott isnt doing that. They don't have one athletic guard/forward in their recruiting class, but they can shoot. I like watching Doug play because hes a solid kid and a good basketball player but he seems to be kinda pressing so far this year. Hes putting up his stats still but I feel like watching him it almost appears he thinks he needs to take over games. Boise was doing some pretty simple stuff on offense and they just out athleted Creighton coupled with some pretty bad fundamentals on that end by Creighton. I almost wonder if they are SO much of an offensive minded team that it cripples them on the defensive side of the ball. Guys like Wragge, Dingman, Manigat only really care about one thing...and thats standing behind the three point line and jacking up threes. I would love to have some of their shooters on our roster right now...but I hope Miles can find some shooters, to go along with some athletic guards and bigs who know how to defend down the road.

Creighton game questions...
huskerbaseball13 replied to Cochran4_3's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
LMAO! Now that right there is funny and just goes to show how delusion CU fans are. I don't think there are any Big 10 programs that are worried about Creighton stealing their prospects. -
Also will happen with Moss this year and possibly Curry. I haven't seen enough of Sergej's play to say much but I've heard he is a project. Was hoping he would get quite a few minutes this year because we will need his size next year.

B1G to consider another round of expansion?

I read about it in the OWH this morning. Shocked me as well. I would think they would make something work but you never know. -

Those were the words of the Creighton AD more or less. -
B1G to consider another round of expansion?

With this expansion it looks like the series with Creighton could be coming to an end......... Delaney want a 20+ games conference schedule. With that, most likely the remainder of our games would likely be at home. I doubt Creighton would be willing to just play us at the Pinnacle every year. -

For now, Illinois will be moved to our division from what I hear. But you are correct, this is the first move toward's a "super conference." Others will follow suit. Big 10 will probably go after UVA, Ga Tech, or UNC next. UNC would be tougher to get due to their affinity with NC ST and Duke. Notre Dame may not be affiliated with the ACC for long when the conferece crumbles....because the SEC will come calling for FSU and Clemson. Big 12 will follow suit. -
KenPom 2012-2013 KenPom Rankings Thread
huskerbaseball13 replied to 49r's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Miles should get coach of they year if this comes to fruition. I'm just not seeing it, Big 10 might be the best basketball conference in the nation this year and we are not only lacking depth we are lacking talent. If he can string together 4 to 6 wins with that schedule he will have done a fanstastic job this year. -
BINGO, didnt see this before I posted my thread. It appears our players aren't afraid to take shots on the offensive end of the court anymore. Not to turn this into a Doc bashing thread....we will see when we have better depth but I don't think we have to worry about any players vanishing in the middle of the game for no reason.

I think Miles will build a winner here....but what I like even more is that we will be watching an exciting brand of basketball. I like the early looks of Miles offensive philosophy and thinkg it will be very fun to watch once we are able to get some depth and better talent in the program. Last night I saw some kids not afraid to take an open look early in the shot clock. Some of the shots were probably bad decisions but in time I think Miles will get his players to understand whats a good shot and whats a bad shot in this offense. It's going to be a long year folks, we knew that.....but exciting times are ahead of us. Starting next year we will start to see this program build itself up. Really looking forward to watching many more years of GATA ball.

Who wants to bet that this Doublejayalum/bluejayattyalum/all the other names hes had to come up with to post on this board? He was always scheduled to visit later this month. Why? Who knows, it could be a number of reasons.

NU home dogs tonight. Thought the line was pretty interesting. Im going to stay away because I could see it going either way. Valpa is a solid team, but typically we play pretty well at home.
-
It sounds like Miles is expecting to get Webster's paper work in by the end of fall period(11/21) because it is more complicated for international players.

Per Akoy's twitter last night he stated he can't wait to be a Card. Unless he "shocks the world" it appears he will be signing the dotted line for Louisville today.

Valpo is going to destroy us
huskerbaseball13 replied to BjoeHusker's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I don't know if they will destroy us.....but we will have to play well to win. I watched a few of their games last year and they play good basketball and can shoot. They aren't overly athletic though. They have a tall foreigner who can fill it up. This year is just about getting better. We obviously know its going to be a rough year record wise but hopefully we continue to see the team and the young guys develop as the year goes on. -
Yes I am. On a work computer. No worries, I have CHROME at home and it works just fine. Thanks guys!

Hey Dimes. I'm not very computer savvy....and it may just be an issue with my browser. But I'm not able to hit the back button on the website. Is anyone else having similar problems?

CBS Sports Big 10 "Well thats just silly @coachmiles is trending worldwide. A rousing press conference for first year coach" Daily Illini Hoops "If Miles can work a living room like he can work a media room NU is set" Kevin Kugler "Glad to see Coach Miles was such a hit at Big 10 media days this morning" Tom Dienhart "Tim Miles, hoop coach, Tweeter, Renaissance Man" Diamond Leung (Sparty Beat Writer) "Tim Miles is awesome" I realize it comes down to wins and losses on the court....but this coach GETS IT!
