Possibly. Do you think he lands a power 5 gig? I hope he does. As I said, it would be interesting to see what he would do differently. I think its more likely he ends up in a mid major type conference but I could be wrong.

I think he can return to being a very good mid major coach. Not sure he lands a power 5 gig but it would be interesting to see how he would do with what he has learned at NU.

Yeah, I'm not saying we won't end up with Hoiberg....but from what I have heard from someone who actually works for the University...it's not 100% just yet.

The Illino, ASU, and Mich series are going to loom large in regards to our ability to be an at large bid. I’m glad all 3 series are in Lincoln.

You refuse to believe a coach can win a NCAA tournament game here just because nobody else has....??? I’m not sure if I’m reading your post correctly. So again, what’s the point even having a basketball program outside of it bringing in some cash and being a hold over until spring football starts? Let’s go down your route and cut Miles paycheck in half instead of possibly landing a guy who has been there done that already.

Correction....everybody should be hoping we get Hoiberg. For those worried about going the mid major route and of a long rebuild Hoiberg is by far our best chance to make this a smooth transition as possible.

Such a losers attitude. Might as well drop the basketball program and add hockey. If we land Hoiberg it will arguably be the best coaching hire in college basketball this offseason. The positive press from a national standpoint will be huge. There is no guarantee it makes us into a bonafide winner but it’s the best chance we got.

Hopefully I’m wrong but I have heard Roby is gone regardless of who the coach is. Maybe the will change if we do in fact land Hoiberg and Hoiberg knocks his socks off. Either way, can’t blame him if he goes. And if he does...hopefully it will help with recruiting seeing a Nebraska players name on draft boards.

Fisher has been much better than I expected thus far. Frankly, his stuff last year was not great. He was living in the low to mid 80’s most games. I have not seen him live thus far this year but can argue with the results. Taking advantage and racking up wins against teams teams like MSU is key. A 3-0 Big Ten start would be nice and give us a little breathing room. It’s unfortunate that Curry could not stay healthy because he had the potential to be a Friday-Saturday guy.

I had heard 3.5-4 Million. My guess is if ISU comes sniffing around, we will be willing to hit the 4 million mark. But just a guess.

If worst comes to worst and Miles is our best option and he wants to take a 1.5 million $ paycut then more power to him.

Prohm is making 2 Million I believe and Hoiberg at ISU was making 2.6 before he left. If the rumors are true about us paying 4 million and more importantly paying his assistants a nice chunk of change, I would guess ISU will need to pony up. I'm also not so sure it would be a given that Hoiberg would want to go back to ISU. If he would leave them again it would certainly tarnish his legacy.

Going to have to make a run and string together quite a few wins if we want a chance at an at large this year. Unfortunatly, the Big Ten is looking pretty mediocre. Our first 3 Big Ten opponents currently have a combined record of 12-41. We need to go 7-2 or better in those series for RPI purposes.

I have heard they have done more than contact Hoiberg. Part of me still does not want to believe this and get my hopes up.

That would be weird but considering Hoiberg’s Iowa St teams were not exactly known for their defense I would welcome that addition.
