Lots of rumors around Lincoln that Moos may not last much longer either. That may be Miles only saving grace IMo. -

If Moos is not going to be given the green light to hire the next coach just send him out with Miles. No sense keeping around an AD you don’t trust. -

What a waste of talent. But when you are a mediocre coach that tends to shine thru. -

Coach Lewis was ticked....got into Copeland last timeout. Ran off the court. Hopefully he gave a serious ass chewing. -

Just another half where this is no flow to the offense. Crowd is dead. Team not giving them much to cheer for. Hopefully we got the dreaded Miles offensive drought out of our system. Not sure we can have another and win this game. Have to come out hot in the second half. -
I don't know what this means. But, nobody is saying facilities are the end all be all. But, they matter. Quite a bit. If they didn't...there would be no arms race in football/basketball to build the next best thing.

https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/2014/isaac-copeland-1040 We start four players that were 4* according to rivals and one that was considered a 5*. If facilities don't matter...why do football programs and basketball programs take the time and money to invest in them? There would be no use if recruits don't care.
-
I wonder if KSU/ISU fans think that way? KSU has not been some powerhouse recruiting juggernaut under Weber yet they have gone to 4 NCAA tournaments under him one in which included an elite 8 run. Obviously Weber did not have the rebuild Miles did but on paper, Miles recruiting has been equal if not better counting the transfers. I fail to see why Nebraska can't replicate the success that ISU/KSU has had. Quite honestly, if we should not expect to be a winning program then we should go back to finding a coach for Doc Sadler salary and use the rest for football. Or, cut the program and start a hockey team.

Why would you sign up a guy long term right now who doesn't deserve it? Then NU is stuck with another large bill when /if he's fired. Sure, if this year ends up being a success then lock him up. If not, it does not make much sense keeping him around after Moos extended him just 1 year during the offseason. Nobody is saying facilities/money is the only thing you need for success. But, imagine how terrible we would be if Miles did not have a practice facility or the PBA to work with. We would still be the Rutgers of the Big Ten. The facility upgrades and resources put us on a more even playing field with other P5 programs. More so than ever before. Unfortunately, we still don't have much to show for it in terms of postseason success.
-
For me I would hope that a win and another NCAA appearance will just continue to propel our program in recruiting. I don't care if our offense looks like Kansas St as long as we win. So for me, if Miles wins a game this year he deserves an extension. I don't believe it means he deserves a lifetime contract but with a NCAA win this year he has earned some breathing room and to not be worried every year about being let go.
-
We will be about an 8 point favorite I would guess so really no excuse to lose this game at home. Should be a good matchup for us as Ohio St does not shoot the ball all that well. My concern would be Wesson hammering us down low and on the glass.
-
If we fail this year the majority of the fans won’t care if it’s not Hoiberg or Lue. The fanbase will be ready to move on from Miles regardless. Obviously that could backfire and we turn into a Rutgers but that should be a risk we are willing to take IMO. To be fair, with the resources and money we should be doing better than still waiting on our first postseason win since joining the Big Ten. That includes the NIT.
-
We dropped 3 seed lines with this loss. That’s huge. Not rock bottom, we have been much worse obviously but this team is underachieving thus far.

We are starting to get into the "what exactly does Marc Boehm do" part of the season.

Nebraska (13-5) vs. Rutgers (8-9) Game Thread

Agreed, there is no comparison. That's why I don't know why Frost was brought up. Miles still has a chance to secure a long term extension but he has a lot of work to do. -

Eeek, can you imagine the football carnage if Frost goes six years without winning a postseason game and in year 7 when his team is projected top 25 he finds himself at 3-5 in conference play? -

We were 8.5 point favs tonight. Tough to win on the road sure....but that was just another choke job that shouldn’t happen with such a veteran team. -
Throw serious money at Kalvin Sampson and see if he wants one last go at power 5 ball.
