I voted in the poll, but this whole situation is way past looking back at Bo, The Eichorst hire of Riley should be looked at outside of that. We have the firing. That was inevitable once Tom was gone, for better or worse, like it or not. But without regard to that, we have the hiring. I recall when Danny was really struggling in years 2-4, no one could evaluate anything outside of their views on Moe. It was hard to have a conversation about Danny outside of "Well, do you want Moe back"? The lens here needs to be wider. Many can only look at the Riley hire based on their views of Bo. At this point it isn't about Bo. It's about Eichorst.

There goes Norm stealing my (Kenpom) thunder again!

By the looks of things, this should have been two fairly evenly-matched teams. Wyoming is ranked fairly middle-of-the-pack in the nation by Kenpom (180th) as are we (137th). They finished 4th in the Mountain West last year and had 25 wins, so they certainly weren't bad. Looking at the rosters, we have similar size. The biggest difference is that we have 3 top-100 recruits/transfers now eligible that we didn't have last year. And we've shed ourselves of some of the locker room issues that might have held us back a bit last year. I take this as a very good sign for us.

We have a lot of walk-ons in our two deep depth chart. We have a great number of scholarship athletes who cannot sniff the field. That tells me we have had a sh**load of misses in our recruiting. Example...I can appreciate everything Ryker attempted to do today. But when you have two of our recruited QB's who cannot break the two deep, and a third who couldn't beat them out and transferred...well that seems to be a problem.

Huskers.com had a pretty good write up. Sounded like the 22 point win was in a controlled scrimmage where they played different defenses. Also, Nebraska lost in a 20 minute live scrimmage 40-37, tied 19-19 in a 10 minute live scrimmage and won 9-2 in a 6 minute scrimmage that featured young players. Watson scored 20 with 4 triples in the afternoon and had 13 in the morning which is impressive. Also, Nebraska shot 40 % from 3 in both sessions according to the article which is encouraging, especially against Wyoming who is good on D normally.

We're ranked 39 right now, and haven't gotten a commitment in 6 weeks. Good luck with that. bo had 8 recruits signed last year at this time. riley has 15.

I love the picture of that fence post. To me, that kind of scenery is beautiful. I love Nebraska. Having said that, I think the goal posts in the lower picture are safe if they're in Lincoln. It's toward the end of tornado season and we rarely have touchdowns in Lincoln anymore. They say it's because Lincoln sits in a valley; I think it's because Tom Osborne retired too soon.
