    For those eager to resurface the "Rock Bottom" thread...lest we forget about the 17-game losing streak in 2019-2020?

    Disappointing? Sure. Rock Bottom? Hardly.

    Maybe USC will move up three spots in the NET and this will only be a Q2 loss. 🤮

    Does it even matter at this point.  I can honestly say I will be surprised if we win again, this year.

    Not really. I'd be more surprised making the dance than I would missing the B1G tournament at this point. We look lost, disinterested, no killer mentality, and the schedule only gets harder.

    We lack consistency from so many players. Both game to game or within a game.  We have too many people who are not threats on offense.  Bucky Badger may spank us badly in Madison.

    There is so much commentary about officiating. My complaint is calls being made by the out of position official.  Also, with all the contact allowed, the officials tend to call little touches.  It works both ways.

    We are in very, very real danger of missing the B1G Tournament.

    Jeff calls fouls based on feel, not what he sees. It’s absolutely ridiculous.

    It’s just always going to be a losing formula when you have to take out BOTH point guards at the end of the game because neither will shoot.

    Since Keisei and Connor often get compared, here’s one. Both of them get absolutely harassed all the time on offense, to an egregious point. It’s worse because Connor is much more mild mannered. Keisei being the show every play draws much more attention and they can’t pull the same shit without getting fouls called.

    Having to go 6-2 just to get back to .500 in the conference with this schedule….. ouch.

    @Wisconsin

    Illinois

    @Oregon

    @Washington

    Ohio St

    Maryland

    @Northwestern

    @Penn St

    I’m afraid Cazzie is right, we’re in real danger of missing the tournament… and not the NCAA one either.

    USC could have been T’d up after that Williams turnover for throwing his shoulder into Williams and saying something to him. Video is too big to post so I just attached a screenshot instead.

    We do too many little things poorly.  We tie the game and have USC late in the shot clock and don't defend close?  Instead of driving inside (it was working all game) we take 24 threes?  Gary probably should of had 30+ tonight...  Up 8 in the first half and we get sloppy with the ball/take threes early in the shot clock.  How many fast breaks did we lose the ball?

    I really hate our defense.  The three-pointer is not a hard shot!  You have to defend it way better than we do.  Our defense gave up another huge scoring half.

    Just hoping we keep fighting.  This team can compete at Wisconsin but I don't know if they will.

    I've seen players do less to get a t.

    I got nothing. Mentally, the guys are lost right now. Some good individual performances, but not good enough and they're not playing connected. It's dangerzone now rest of the season. We'll see how the rest of the year goes.

    It's sad what has transpired this month, but I guess we should have seen it coming because even going back to the Red vs. White Scrimmage we were talking about how we couldn't shoot. Now here we are this month shooting 30.6% from 3 in our last 6 games, averaging just 7 makes a game. Last year in Big Ten games we averaged 9.5 makes per game and shot 37.8%.

    This team has a plethora of problems. Even if we had won tonight, watching that game it was very clear everything on offense is just way too hard for this team. We have been thoroughly scouted by Big Ten teams and have no answers. Juwan had 27, Brice had 17, Connor had 15, and we lost. There isn't much else more we can count on game to game than that.

    Gary’s dropped to 29.7% from deep on the year. During our 5 game skid he’s 2-21 (9.5% for those wanting the math on that).

    He is 3-28 (10.7%) in our losses this year.

    He is 16-36 (44.4%) in our wins this year.

    Him knocking down shots opens things up for everyone else.

    I can’t decide which is MORE disappointing:

    1. The Over Rushed ridiculous Non-Shot to End the Game.
    2. Hearing Brice @ the Presser Trot Out the Old Warhorse listing the games we could’ve/should’ve Won.

    I may have never felt more pain from a loss in my Nebraska basketball life than tonight.

    This was a nail in the coffin and now looks like a 6-14 team in league.

    There will be no postseason.

    How will Fred recruit without a contract extension? And how could you possibly give him one after this year?

    He needs one more season at minimum but we have almost nothing worthwhile returning unless the redshirts are good. Connor Essegian can’t start in the Big

    10. Berke either isn’t near as good as we thought or he’s being horribly utilized. Or both.

    im tired of scramble drills on defense.

    im tired of no point guards every year. We have by far the worst point guard play in the big ten.

    this loss hurts so much because it feels like the beginning of the end of this era.

    and if Fred Hoiberg can’t get it done - who possibly could?

    this loss has crushed me. Like legit crushed me.

    Tonight was absolutely unacceptable and embarrassing.

    but at the end of the day. This team just isn’t good. And it doesn’t appear well

    Coached. At all.

    but sure Juwan, shoot some more 3’s.

    talk me off the ledge. Please.
