What do you think Miles meant when he said he was thinking 'recruiting' during

the second half of the Iowa game? I think it means that several current players will be asked (told) that they will not be coming back next season. I look for

at least two players to not have their scholarships renewed for next year. Your thoughts?

FWIW, he mentioned it again tonight on his show. But it doesn't mean people will get booted off.  Some could leave of their own accord.  Or he could be looking at 2017 players.  Lots of possibilities.

I believe Miles might be discussing recruiting as a means to improve the roster over the long-term (which seems fairly obvious with the play of the team, overall).  I'd imagine a grad transfer big man would be of a high level of mutual interest!  Miles seems to be on the prowl in all arenas of recruiting, which any good coach should be unless they have players begging to play for them (UK, KU, Duke, UNC et al).

I would love to see us add a quality JUCO center next year along with a senior graduate power forward (give Morrow a year to prepare for full-time starter duty). I think our perimeter shooting will improve with Andrew White, Gylen Watson, and the Australian kid. Add one or two 'bigs' and next year will be exciting.

As awesome as that sounds the probability for the above scenario is as good as me winning a small lottery.  The juco class that is left is horrendous at this point for quality big men and finding a transfer big thats worth his salt will normally not end up in a Nebraska but elsewhere.  Now do I think we possibly get someone, I do, but to expect anything that will be much more than Leslee or Moses provide could be wishful thinking at this point.  I'd love to be wrong, and would also love to win a small lottery since we just bought a new home.  ;)

Miles is talking about the guys we already have coming in playing next year and about what he needs to bring in for a complete team. He didn't pull Benny's scholarship...he told Benny he wasn't going to play. Not sure if he pulled Surge's schollie last year...more likely told him he was never playing. I'm also not sure if that is semantics.

Him telling multiple guys they're not coming back for anything other than disciplinarian reasons? That's not the type of program that Miles seems to be running here.

Is this something recent or are you talking about Miles doing this a couple of years ago after Benny's freshman year?

Sorry, but I'm confused and just seek clarity.

After his freshman year. I think he specifically told Benny he should transfer because he wasn't going to play. Benny didn't transfer. If you pull someone's scholarship, they don't really get a choice in the matter. Benny had the choice.

I don't drink Kool Aid and I only buy lottery tickets when the jackpot reaches 3 or 4 hundred million dollars.

I want a quality big.  And another player who can drain it from deep (but has the athleticism and talent to see the floor.)

Too much to ask?

Yeah, probably.    :(

If you won the 3 or 4 hundred million you could buy one for the huskers

Yeah, Norm, who wants to bother winning a paltry 1 or 2 hundred million dollars....I mean, it's really just not worth it!   ;)

Ex-actly.  I mean, if I'm only going to win it once, why not wait until there's a big jackpot to win?

Right?

I mean, you just can't do anything with a hundred million any more.
