hhcmatt Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 UNLV with at least one open spot now. Looks like people are speculating on who else might leave as well http://lasvegassun.com/news/2014/may/12/morant-latest-rebel-transfer-out-program/ Morant will be the 7th guy (so far) in the last 3 years to transfer out of UNLV Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 Okay I said that I don't like to worry about recuiting because too much is going on in these kids life to read anything into what they say, tweet, etc... However since I am a bit bored I have been following Jordan's tweeter. He only seems to retweet the UNLV things that are tweeted to him. He has had some good stuff from Husker fans but he doesn't retweet that. So this will be the only time I will ever try to guess what some player is thinking. But he seems to like what UNLV is saying. Just a gut feeling but I don't see him in a Husker uniform next year. But like Dimes said, could see him in two years.. maybe. Quote
uneblinstu Posted May 13, 2014 Author Report Posted May 13, 2014 getting really close to 20 pages... He's announcing on May 20th. It would take an act of Mod for this to not hit 20 pages. It's in play... Quote

Swan88 Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 As long as we are all speculating, without any inside information whatever (a/k/a pooling-our-ignorance), here is my speculation (which everyone already knows is worthless) on why he shouldn't (didn't say "wouldn't") pick UNLV over Nebraska: 1. Why would a shooting guard in the 2014 class go to a school (UNLV) that already has commitments for the 2014 class from two shooting guards--one is a three-star who committed less than a month ago and one is a five-star--instead of a school having no commitment from a shooting guard in the 2014 class? 2. Why would a shooting guard in the 2014 class pass up an opportunity to play for a highly-productive team who over-shot all expectations last year and who returns all it's main players from the highly-successful 2013-14 team, except for these two significant departures: a senior shooting guard and a freshman shooting guard projected to see significant playing time next year? 3. Why would a player opt for an unstable team (i.e., high roster turnover) over one with a high degree of stability and a high degree of player satisfaction? Quote

TheKamdyMan Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 I dont follow a player until they commit because there's always a bunch of garbage on there but after all the talk about him I checked it out. I really cant understand why he would retweet so many UNLV things while hes still on his visit to Nebraska. I mean thats complete disrespect to a school thats hosting you. Do it on your trip there but c'mon man. I wasn't sold from the beginning and the more I see the less I want to see him. Would gladly take him but to me he has a lot of growing up yet to do. ajb5856 Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 So when will our closing percentage start to go up. So when will our closing percentage start to go up. It's down? Compared to what? So because following basketball recruiting is a thing around here now and because we hear about all the basketball recruits...we hear about all the misses, right? So far we've closed on: Hammond Tarin Smith Moses Ayegba What is our closing percentage and what is a good one? I guess it will go up whenever the next one decides to commit. Yeah kind of like talking about some other girl your taking to prom while on a date with the girl you aren't taking to prom. I think he may be too big city for us. You know it is kind of .... Relaxed around for some of our youth. Quote

Hooper Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 We've got to get this kid. There may be some plan B guys they have in their pocket somewhere, but I would hate to see us go into next year with only 11 scholarship players on the roster. We just can't keep handicapping ourselves year after year. Going into a season with only 11 on scholarship is the football equivalent of going into the season with only 72 scholarship players. If this kid is basically a good kid who exercises bad judgment from time to time with stuff like the UNLV retweets, I still want him. We can sign him and then teach him some manners later. hhcmatt and Silverbacked1 2 Quote

Cool. Don't doubt it but it's just the same fluff every recruit and every recruits family says about a school they are visiting. How many recruits have passed now? And yet every single one of Robin's articles has said, "best facilities ever, great campus, great atmosphere, super cool coaches, love the community feeling, like family, awesome academics" blah blah blah. Not a single one has said they hated it here, even if they did. Quote
