If only we could find a center

Now that we got Terrin Smith which I think will be solid PG with us for years to come. Now we need to find a solid Center, I know we signed Jacob Hammond which could be that guy in a couple of years but from I have been reading on Hammond he is project and probably a candidate for red-shirt. Pitchford is better at the 4 spot because of his ability to stretch the defense and run pick and pops he will never work has a center because he does not have the ability to rebound and post defense. So we need to find somebody at center Moses has got to be our guy he should be the #1 target for us we need his defense and rebounding even he avg 7pts a game who cares we need rebounding and post defense. That is the remaining piece to the puzzle for us to return to the tourney with the BIG 3 (Petteway, Shields, Pitchford) coming back this could end up being the best Nebrasketball season in history.   I have faith in Tai either the PG or SG I think SG spot is better for him, Parker is coming off the bench again next season which works great for him and us.

Theres a reason the good centers have EVERY team in on them, its because they are hard to come by.  Teams like NU have to find projects or guys that are deficient in a part of their game and build them into something.

I don't disagree that Moses will end up here but not sure this guy is exactly the missing piece we need.  He didn't exactly light the world on fire at Georgetown.  Based on his numbers, he was a pretty average player.  This would be a one and done player but not with one and done type talent.

Numbers dont always tell a story.  He had troubles initially with "grade issues" where they held him out until they got that resolved with the NCAA.  He got hurt and had a knee surgery.  What would've been his junior year he had to have surgery again and was out the entire year.  So he's spent a lot of time having to overcome stuff while at GT.  He will now be two years removed from surgery and getting a fresh start.

And if he gets here this summer, he'll have all summer to work with our coaches before fall conditioning and practices start.  That will help some too.  Get a bit acclimated.

In my opinion the key here isn't Moses being a huge offensive threat, but instead providing a defensive presence (aka "Rim Protector")....but more importantly allowing Pitchford to play in his natural position of a Stretch Four.

Exactly this.

Nebraska has enough scorers to win most games. Petteway, Pitchford, Shields...plus I expect Webster and Fuller to have more of a scoring role next season. Nebraska plays good defense most of the time. What they need is someone that can shine glass, so that they don't give the other team 2-3 tries each time down the floor. Holding a team to a poor field goal percentage isn't nearly as successful, if you let them have multiple shots each possession. Nebraska needs a shot blocker and a rebounder.
