Huskerbb73 Posted March 26, 2014 Report Posted March 26, 2014 Greg Sharp just said on 1620 that it is rumored that Smith(former Ralston grad) will be graduating from CSU and is looking for somewhere to transfer for his final season of eligibility. Would NU accept him as he is not a post player. Walk on? Anyone know anything on this? Quote
BrasketballIfYouNeedThem Posted March 26, 2014 Report Posted March 26, 2014 6-4 guard isn't really a need at this point. Quote

Norm Peterson Posted March 26, 2014 Report Posted March 26, 2014 Yeah, I don't see Miles using up a 'ship just for old time's sake. Can the kid bring something useful to the table different than what we already have? If not, he could maybe look at UNO. Quote

Yeah, after looking at his stats, I just don't see it unless he would be a walk on. Quote
imnothipp Posted March 26, 2014 Report Posted March 26, 2014 maybe a good fit for South Dakota. TheGov21 1 Quote
Nafreksuh Posted March 30, 2014 Report Posted March 30, 2014 Smith would be a very good addition and a nice way to use what will probably be an open scholly for us. His avgs. don't really tell the story of the player he is. Here are a couple of articles that give a bit of perspective. http://www.coloradoan.com/article/20140316/COLUMNISTS149/303160072/matt-stephens-column?nclick_check=1 http://www.collegian.com/2014/03/albertson-dwight-smith-stands-out-in-loss/70097/#UFgkEWtSlxzxIkVP.01 Also, keep in mind he knows Miles' expectations and he is a Nebraska kid. Would be a good fit even though it's not necessarily one of our positions of need. Quote
hhcmatt Posted March 31, 2014 Report Posted March 31, 2014 Smith would be a very good addition and a nice way to use what will probably be an open scholly for us. He definitely has value. He's able to generate contact and make it to the FT line. He would play minutes here. Are Hawkins and Fuller going to be shooters? Is Webster going to be a scorer? Smith seems to be a scorer, not a shooter. Who is our scorer when Petteway and/or Shields are in foul trouble? Can he play defense? Is he a ball handler? He'd be awesome as a walkon. As a scholarship player he would mean we either could find a high enough level freshman or a transfer for what I believe are more pressing needs like shooting or size. Quote
PimpMario Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 Smith would be a very good addition and a nice way to use what will probably be an open scholly for us. He definitely has value. Shuttlesworth Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 hmmmmmm So strange. I was thinking in similar fashion. Quote

Look at the sample size...11/18. None of his stats from last year are going to be that impressive...he was injured most of the year. He was a 69.2% FT shooter his last full year. Silverbacked1 Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 However, Nebraska kid, played for our coach, only one year, a lot of good things could come from this. Tarren shot 43% from the line at Tech. So who knows. Quote
Section_316 Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 what did he shoot from 3 his last full year? Quote

In all fairness to him, his numbers across the board (including FT%) were better under Miles than they were under Eustachy. Quote
