Rosenthal tweeted that Shields will miss 2 weeks with an infection he had in his elbow and that Biggs will RS this year.

I hope the "curse" of NU players getting hurt doesn't continue under Miles the way it did with Doc. We may need Shields this year so I hate seeing him miss time like this. Especially since people said he has looked good in practice.

That stinks. He was the player I was most excited to see this season. I'm hoping he can develop into a solid B10 starter in time.

Not long, but the fact he has an injury before the season has started is concerning.

Parker and Shields are the main reasons I'm excited about this season. This roster is SO short on bodies, even minor nagging injuries can be devastating.

I read that Andre hurt his ankle and will be back this week, and Shields' bursa sac burst and became infected.

yep. 7 scholarship guys for the first 2 or 3 weeks. UNO could really give this team a close game. Also, nobody from the student open tryouts made the team...

First I want that jacket/shirt thing Coach Miles is wearing.

Second, I hate when coaches are interviewed, they give such vanilla answers it's painful. BUT I will watch any interview Coach Miles ever does while at Nebraska. He's so engaging.

I think you'll see some uptempo ball the first two exhibition games. Not sure what you'll see after that as Miles seems to be favoring winning over system at this point.

We were certainly "cursed" with many injuries during the Sadler era. I wonder if this was at least partially self inflicted by the intensity of Doc's practices. I've never seen another coach's practice as HARD as Doc did. And I absolutely loved it at the time. But part of me wonders if that is at least a part of the reason his players experienced so many injuries. I don't BLAME Doc... with the talent and size he had his teams HAD to outwork everyone else to compete.
