Bucknell beats Penn State 90-80

 

Damn.  First loss of the year for the Big 10.  Likely won't end up being a bad one.  Bucknell usually pretty solid.  

 

Side not question.  Not sure where to ask so I will here.  UNO playing incredibly well in the early going.  I pull for them being an Omaha guy that went to some post grad school there.  When are they eligible to dance if they win their tourney?

I think you are right, those folks voting the Huskers last in the B1G are going to look pretty foolish come March.  Congrats on the nice start to the season fellas.

If this is true, and I think it is, you gotta like our chances to sneak into the tourney. The big ten is loaded once again and we are bound to end up with a pretty strong SOS and RPI (if we end up in the 7-10 spot).

This... with the 3 games in Charleston and then Miami and Creighton coming up, we will know a lot about this team.  The top of the conference will be loaded though, so it is important for us to beat the bottom tier, and steal a few games from the top.  Would be nice to win a few road games as well this year.

Here's how I am looking at the upcoming tourney: 3 wins= possible bubble team, 2 wins=possible NIT team, 1 win=kind of like last year except more fun, 0 wins= the sky begins to fall and sourpusses begin to start threads here.

My take.

 

3 wins = unthinkable at this point

2 wins = absolute success

1 win = not the end of the world but somewhat disappointing

0 wins = well, we weren't gonna be very good this year anyway

 

IMHO, we should expect 1 win and hope for 2 wins.

If we have strong first half we win the first game.  Who really can scout us right now?

 

If we play consistent we win the second one. 

 

If we win all three it's because Shavon Shields is a boss, Walter is insanely accurate, and Biggs does big things.
