Robin Washut says that he expects Fuller, Smith, and Webster to all play BIG roles for Nebraska this next season.

He said Hawkins could see some playing time, but he said that it looks like Fuller, Smith, and Webster will see alot.

Do tell more.   He was on for the whole hour right ?    Any other tidbits would be appreciated !

I did hear about the last 5-7 minutes and some guy from Broken Bow said his kid was a scholarship player for Indiana.   His question seemed to be why didn't NU recruit him or does NU back off when big programs get involved.   They asked him his sons name and I'm sure they were thinking this guy is nuts....anyway he ends up saying that the kid lives in Indiana ( went to HS there I assume).   They had to cut to the end of the hour.  Anyway I didn't quite understand what the caller was getting at.  I was running errands, I should have noted the kids name better to memory as I can't remember it now.

Yeah, I heard that too.

I think he was wondering if Nebraska takes a look at a kid, if he is offered by another Big Ten school.

I couldn't tell if the call was legit or not, because when they asked him if his son playerd football or basketball, there was like 2-3 seconds of silence, before he answered "basketball".

what'd he say about Webster's SAT/eligibility?

Did he imply Hawkins was going to redshirt? Seems to make sense to me with Gallegos/webster/biggs/parker taking up minutes.

He fully expects Webster to be here enrolled by July 1st

Everything just needs to be checked off by the NCAA clearing house

The SAT was the big hurdle for Tai

He said he said Hawkins will get minutes, just not as many at Webster, Smith and Fuller.  He said that Hawkins best asset is his outside shooting.  Plus, the fact that he is 6'5" doesn't hurt his cause...

Thanks for the link, hugh.  Interesting read.

The kid has been in Indiana since the second grade.  If he'd been in Broken Bow, you'd think NU would have been in on him long ago.

The kid committed in 2010.

That's kinda my point, if he wasn't in Indiana and in Broken Bow instead, we would have known about the kid and I'm sure Doc would have been in on him.  You think Indiana would have?  I don't, or at least find it unlikely, at least not three years ahead of the time.  Maybe Creighton, perhaps Kansas or Iowa, but this is probably a kid that's been an Indiana fan for a long time, heck, he might not have played basketball if he'd stayed in Nebraska.
