FredsSlacks Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 People can say what they want about it not mattering who our sponsors are, but at a school like Nebraska you need all the help you can get. Nike/Jordan is clearly the superior brand for basketball shoes/gear. seaofred92 and a0t0w0 2 Quote

FredsSlacks Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 i'm not disagreeing that Adidas isn't the most profitable for NU. but Is money more important than having the brand that the kids want? I obviously also know it isn't changing any time soon. Quote

Notre Dame, Michigan, UCLA, Wisconsin all seem to do fine in football and basketball fielding teams of decent players and Kansas got the #1 player to come out of high school in years to commit to them. While I definitely agree with Smiles, I also feel adidas is best for Nebraska. Norm Peterson 1 Quote

Notre Dame- in the middle of basketball country. Indiana. Michigan- Top school in a state with 5x the population of Nebraska. Fab 4 tradition. UCLA- John wooden tradition... Los Angeles Wisconsin- top school in state with nearly 3x the population of Nebraska. Established bball coach and style of play. Nebraska- in the middle of nowhere with no basketball tradition. You can't compare NU to those schools in basketball. We are less likely to get away with having an inferior sponsor. In football, we can get away with Adidas because we have the winning tradition. a0t0w0 1 Quote

Excuses, excuses. Those schools all have to "overcome negativity" towards Adidas every year and have no problem doing so. Time to stop making excuses, live with the best hand dealt and get the job done. I guarantee you thats what Tim Miles is doing and so should TimSmiles because all this bitching (not just you so dont take offense to it) needs to stop because its NOT CHANGING anytime soon so why cry about it. there's nothing stopping Nebraska from being one of the Adidas schools that does well on the court. Huskerpapa Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 There is a huge part of me that could/should/would argue that if a kid is so shallow, that his number one concern is the brand of shoe on his feet, then I would not want him here... a0t0w0 and hhcmatt 2 Quote

Cazzie22 Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 Louisville and Indiana are adidas...I think they do OK in basketball. Quote
PimpMario Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 I don't know crap about shoe companies. Is there a relatively concise article or thread that talks about Adidas/Nike concerning Nebraska atheletics? Quote
49r Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 Norm, I don't know from Pat Knight or Phil Knight. For me it's all about Judge Smails. SUCK IT TED KNIGHT!! Quote
