49r Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 Coaching deficiencies??? guessing that odd reply was made with the thought that McKewon was talking about football Excellent point, and I'm sure that's the answer.
49r Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 And in going back in the thread from the beginning, I can safely say Norm was lukewarm at best on him from the get go...so, go ahead Norm. The "we didn't want him anyway" is perfectly justified on this one! Norm Peterson 1

Norm Peterson Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 Perspective sure is an interesting thing. Creighton fans will tell you the Jays passed on Fuller, but I'm 100% sure you all would disagree. In the end you won't really know until their four/five years are up who was a hit and who was a miss, but by then everyone has forgotten. Anyway, good luck the rest of the way, Jays are really excited to have him. Mose, I love ya buddy, I really do. So, let me be candid. If McDermott passed on Fuller, he's an idiot. Fuller's tape is fantastic. His stats are mind-blowing. I am saying right here and right now that I will be mildly surprised if he's not on some B1G all-freshman team at the end of this season. He's like a left-handed version of McDermott's kid. How the heck would Greg pass on this guy? That would be totally mystifying. I don't care about Rivals rank. But from what I've seen on film, I would take Nick over Leon every day of the week and twice on Sundays. By the way, speaking of Rivals rank, first Gilmore was not ranked. Then he appeared out of nowhere and jumped to top 90. Now, he's slipped way back into the mid-100s. Who knows where he'll end up? Not sure the ranking services really know what to do with this kid. But I'm happy for him because he's going to a decent program in a decent conference and has an opportunity to get a good education. He seems like a nice kid and he seems to have a nice mom who is very excited about her son going off to college. And good for them. I hope he does well and, like I said earlier, I'll be pulling for him. And like 49r pointed out, I'm not disappointed that he chose Creighton.

Creighton Fan Posted September 24, 2013 Report Posted September 24, 2013 I kinda figured it was headed this way when his mom opened up an account on the bluejay board and talked up her visit to Creighton. Seems like a nice kid. I hope he does well there. I actually do. I will be pulling for him. Actually, when she did that I became pretty optimistic as well. You do have the timing a bit wrong though. Momma Gilmore registered after Gilmore got back from visiting both Creighton and Nebraska with Adam Barnes. Her post at that time was something along the lines of "Leon really enjoyed his time up there and was impressed with your campus. He will most likely be taking an official visit this fall." Sure enough he did.
The Coach Posted September 24, 2013 Report Posted September 24, 2013 Have we ever landed a recruit that worked with Adam Barnes? Just asking. It seems like they always end up elsewhere. Norm Peterson and Hooper 2

Fact is, neither of us know, but it sure is nice to pretend like we do now isn't it. Who knows if would have.
hhcmatt Posted September 24, 2013 Report Posted September 24, 2013 Perspective sure is an interesting thing. This would be a different thread if we didn't think we had a good chance at Elbert Robinson. It would have been a bloodbath had he signed at LSU this weekend.

But it may be more because he didn't fit our needs than whether or not he is a good player. We need Centers & PFs and maybe a guard. We don't need wings. Creighton is in the exact opposite position. They desperately need athletic wings. Creighton Fan, Silverbacked1, trickey and 1 other 4

They desperately need athletic wings. Bluejays need wings. Is that what they call a tautology? Norm would like some wings, too. Just the Buffalo variety, though. With blue cheese dressing. Mmmmmm, wings. Is it lunch time yet?

Nevertheless, he continues on and on and on....
49r Posted September 24, 2013 Report Posted September 24, 2013 ummmm... There's a "Creighton Jibber-Jabber" thread over in the other folder, guys. I vote for a lock on this thread. Hooper 1
