it would be bullshit for us to have to play Iowa twice in a row.

 

When was the last time that happened?  I remember doing it against Missouri in '06.  They were going for a perfect undefeated regular season at home in the final game against us and we damn near pulled off the upset, then turned around a few days later and beat them in the Big XII tourney.

My brackets much more accurate than lee's info. We can certainly still play purdue. Go by mine if you want to know. We most likely play Iowa if minny wins and most likely Purdue if they win. Looking like Ohio st would follow. I figured it out properly I believe.

Oklahoma State in '07.  Beat them 85-73, and then three days later we lost 54-39.

That Baylor rematch sucked bad.  My brother and I got pretty bombed in the Ford suite during and after that sucker.   Were never in the damn thing.

I thought it was in the mid-90's, but a cursory look at the media guide revealed that it happened in 06 and I just thought I had mis-remembered.  And the reason I couldn't find it in 94 was because we played 'em in the SECOND round of the Big 8 tourney that year.  Tip o the cap to you, sir.

I am truly afraid that our lack of depth will really, really be exposed during the tournament.  If we play great in round one, we may have nothing left in game two.  I hope I am wrong...

Momentum trumps depth often times CWG in these scenarios.  Not always though.  Miles will do well to massage it.  Most likely it is one and done obviously, although I do feel we could beat Purdue.  We need them to beat Minny.

Momentum trumps depth often times CWG in these scenarios.  Not always though.  Miles will do well to massage it.  Most likely it is one and done obviously, although I do feel we could beat Purdue.  We need them to beat Minny. 

I would feel better about chances in a second game or beyond if we had shown the ability to bounce back after our Iowa win and play well at Wisconsin.  That absolutely did not happen.  I guess I should worry only about game one, and then let things sort out after that.

Why?  Because they beat another mediocre team on a neutral court?  This feigned hyperbole thing is getting tired.  This team has consistently given good effort.  They'll do it again in Chicago and let the results take care of themselves.

 

Take it one game at a time.  If they have to figure out how to avoid the wall on Friday, I'd imagine they'll happily cross that bridge if they get to it.

rematches suck obviously, but im not so sure i'd want illinois more than say iowa based on the fact that the tourney is already sold out and whenever illinois plays in the united center its orange everywhere so i'd opt out of the home court advantage game in favor of a rematch if it came to that scenario

I don't mind Iowa either if it cannot be Purdue.  Much better coming off a loss in the rematch, which is somewhat likely.
