1.   Creighton only has 11 players on its roster with 6 seniors, 2 sophomores; 2 redshirt freshman, and only one freshman; plus no one over 6ft 1 inch.  Thought they might have picked up a post player.

2.  Here are the stats for Nebraska's first 3 games below:

Kendall Moriarty is underperforming so far since she has been starting per her stat line above and averaging 23 minutes a game.  As a junior she should be playing better than she is.  Tends to hold the ball too long and needs to drive mor to either score or get fouled.  Likely,  Callin Hake should be a starter instead based on her performance thus far.

I was really hoping for that breakout season from Moriarty this year. Hoped that she could finally put all the pieces together and be a significant contributor on both ends of the floor.
I feel like Hake is a liability on the defensive end with her smaller stature. But she’s a very capable shooter, I get it.

Hake will likely take Shelley’s place in the lineup against Creighton.  If she takes care of the ball better, she tends to have a high dribble, and can hold her own on defense she will get plenty of minutes.  Only leaves Nissley as a true wing on the bench.

I agree that Moriarity is underperforming. She is clearly one of the better athletes on the team, and she is so fast, but for some reason she is hesitant on offense. Hake's ball handling is suspect, and at times she seems a little out of control, but at least she isn't afraid to get involved. This team is making a name for itself on defense, so my guess is Amy will base her lineup on those willing and able to continue that defensive energy. White and Potts create so many opportunities for steals with their ball pressure, and it does seem like Hake is a little more eager to jump the passing lane than KM has been.

Right now Hake leads the team in 3 shooting percentage. So she has high value in that alone. Also leads team in free throw percentage. I'll take those that all day.

(as a team 3 percentages not so great so far)

Potts has high percentage overall shooting...so would help to shoot more.

Markowski is near the top in most categories, and leads team in scoring and rebounding by quite a bit..  And 82% free throws.

And all that being said, if we don't have most of the injured back for Creighton, sorry to offend any sensitive ears, but more than likely we're burnt toast.  Hope I'm wrong, but if too many of the top 6 or 7 can't play?

Agree about the 3pt percentage. If that doesn't improve, I hope they will encourage White to attack the paint more, since it seems like she can get to the basket at will. Right now, she's finding the open players, but they aren't hitting the wide open shots.

We will need to be on point for our defense against Creighton. They have hurt us with their 3 point shooting. I would expect us to be short on Sunday. One good thing coming out of this injury bug is a player like Coley gaining some confidence. Always thought she could be a good player for us but it just hasn't really clicked for her. Maybe the extra playing time will help.

Creighton gets knocked off by Green Bay.  Is that good or bad for our Lady Huskers?  I like it. I think we can win it with defense. White, Hake, and Nissley should hound their guards.  Markowski and Potts could control down low.  And I like our length defending the "3".  The Kendal's, Potts, Petrie ramping up the perimeter "D".  Could be an entertaining game.  Looking forward to it.

I like it too. Although, I respectfully disagree about Hake. I have not been impressed with her defense. In fact, I see her as a liability on defense. She constantly loses sight of her man (woman lol), and she's not fast enough to run the full court press (in my opinion). Moriarity is though. I like White, Potts and KM guarding full court and initiating the trap. In my opinion, they are our best defenders. Nissley also seems like she might be a little too slow to keep up that intensity, but I hope I'm wrong.

Agree.  But with only 8 healthy bodies, I was running out of players.   🙂

Anybody hear anything about severity of Jaz's injury or is it just day to day as coach has said.

I heard it was a high ankle sprain.  BUT, please don't take that to the bank.  I heard that information from a friend, who heard it from someone in the know.  So there is a chance that info and a dime won't buy you a cup of coffee.

That wouldn't be good.  Thanks.
