It is early in her career, but Natalie’s play reminds me a lot of Emily Cady. At this early stage she is not as good of a rebounded as Emily was in her freshmen season but Natalie could improve in this area as the season moves along.  I hope Natalie play progresses to the level that Emily played at as I think Emily was one of the Huskers all time great women’s basketball players.

Natalie playing her best game of the year against tough competition got over looked this week. Here is who got Big 10 Freshmen of the week with wins over Wisc. (net 113) and Indiana st. (net 244).

 

Freshman of the Week
Mary Ashley Stevenson, Purdue 
F – New York City, N.Y. – The Dalton School – Major: Communications
• Chipped in 11 points, eight rebounds, two assists and a steal in Purdue’s win over Indiana State
• Recorded 13 points, eight rebounds, an assist and steal to beat Wisconsin
• Earns her first Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor
