I really hate the abuse and really even the use of the "Power" or "P" nomenclature when describing conference status/rank.  When the NCAA voted to grant autonomy over player compensation to the 5 biggest football playing conferences, and when the nickname "Power 5" came out it was immediately misunderstood and improperly used.

 

Now we have people making idiotic posts that include "P2 or P3 or P5 or P6 or even P7" (obviously this isn't directed at you per se @hhcmatt, it's just a pet peeve of mine). It has absolutely no meaning at all any more.
