huskas4real Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 Tweeted an "unofficial list" saying Nebraska, CSU, Marquette, and Penn State are his top 4 schools. Quote
ajb5856 Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 I read a lot about Tory Miller during the summer evaluation period. Of course, this was prior to his re-classification from the 2013 to the 2014 class. He had the attention of some bigger programs such as Kansas, Memphis, and Missouri. Lots of interest from major programs but offers from just Minnesota, Nebraska, Arkansas, and Colorado State. Still not too shabby. From what I read, Miller has a strong basketball IQ but is somewhat underdeveloped athletically and needs to get in a weight room. Good size, just needs to add more muscle. Some recruiting analysts said Miller would explode once he got into a collegiate weight program. He is one that I'm glad we got in on early. With his reclassification he is probably hoping the extra year will help him develop and more top programs will offer. I would venture to guess that is exactly what happens. He blows up. Miles has an eye for talent and notice the Colorado State offer. I think that was also Miles doing while he was there. Quote
TheKamdyMan Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 He has some talent surrounding him at new hampton. Â Most notable is 5 star Indiana commit Noah Vonleh. Â From what I've found he has been having games like 10 and 8, or 11 and 7 which are respectable numbers for prep school players since they have to try and get all the talent some touches. Quote
Red Rum Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 I forget so hopefully someone can fill me in.....what's his leg hair status? Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 Don't know about that but... Â Did see his profile on a couple of different sites. Â The Yahoo one has him 6' 8" 215 which is 15 pounds lighter than any other site, he also looks much leaner than the other pictures. Quote
Norm Peterson Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 Last I saw, he was a pretty heavy kid. Looked like Amos Gregory if you can remember what Amos Gregory looked like. Similar playing style if you know what I mean. Old film though. His new numbers sound good. Quote
ajb5856 Posted July 20, 2013 Report Posted July 20, 2013 @RobinWashut: #Nebrasketball recruit Tory Miller will narrow list after July. Iowa, Marquette, Tulsa, Arkansas, Wichita St, PSU & Providence also offered. Quote
ajb5856 Posted July 20, 2013 Report Posted July 20, 2013 I wonder if we are still hard after him. At one point he had eliminated Arkansas but ten he reclassified from 2013 to 2014. Quote
Swan88 Posted July 20, 2013 Report Posted July 20, 2013 Here's a link to a Rivals article dated today (July 20) that discusses Tory Miller. Here is a blurb and his picture from the article:   Tory Miller looked great on the court Friday. Miller Making StridesPossibly the biggest stock riser in Wisconsin has been 2014 power forward Tory Miller of KC Run GMC, and there is good reason for that.At 6-foot-8, and with a massive body, he runs the floor like an antelope, rebounds, has great hands around the rim and is developing well on offense. His hustle on the court is tremendous as he works harder than most players of his stature.Iowa is his latest offer, along with Marquette, Tulsa, Arkansas, Wichita State, Nebraska, Penn State and Providence. He is fielding strong interest from Baylor, California, Tennessee, VCU and Kansas State.Although the Shockers are a local school, and made the Final Four this past April, it won't go a long way in Miller's decision, he said.He will cut his list after July, but it will be interesting to see which schools wind up offering this month and after July. Quote
ajb5856 Posted July 21, 2013 Report Posted July 21, 2013 @BWeixScout: 2014 F Tory Miller appears to have slimmed down. Running the floor really well. Agility is much improved. Quote
ajb5856 Posted July 21, 2013 Report Posted July 21, 2013 @TheRecruitScoop: 2014 PF Tory Miller is an absolute monster for KC Run GMC. He sprints the floor & uses his big body to his advantage. #UASummerJam Quote
hskr4life Posted July 21, 2013 Report Posted July 21, 2013 Sounds like it would probably be a good thing that we were still in on him... He sounds like a late bloomer and could end up being a good get for us at a position of need. Quote
ajb5856 Posted July 21, 2013 Report Posted July 21, 2013 I've always kind of liked Miller as a sleeper prospect. He was always described as having the body and someone who could take off once he hit a college weight room. Looks like his decision to reclassify from 2013 to 2014 has paid off. Miles had recruited him to play at CSU and then extended a Nebraska offer to him shortly after Miles came on board here. Miller did come up here for an unofficial last summer. It will be interesting to see if we get an official out of him. I would assume that we are still on him as one of our top PF prospects along with Gilmore but its always tough to tell. With the recruiting news you get to hear when a scholarship is offered and then hear about the end of the process when they narrow lists and make official visits. But you rarely get to hear updates in the middle of the process. Like which recruits we're still in on and priority order of targets and all of that. It's been even longer in Tory Millers case with the reclassification and all. hhcmatt 1 Quote
Norm Peterson Posted July 23, 2013 Report Posted July 23, 2013 I watched a full-game tape on him probably about a year ago and what stood out to me was he was on the floor but he really wasn't on the floor. He disappeared, took plays off, seemed unsure of how to get involved in the action.  Things people are saying about him this summer are night and day from what I saw a year ago. Slimmed down, runs like a gazelle, works harder than other players of his stature. All things very good news. Glad we stayed with him afterall. Hopefully he rewards us. Norm Peterson Posted July 31, 2013 Report Posted July 31, 2013 Wow. Tory is really blowing up. And that's in the fall, which says more than blowing up in the spring when everyone's looking over the slim pickins to fill that last spot. Good for Tory. Quote

And that's in the fall, which says more than blowing up in the spring when everyone's looking over the slim pickins to fill that last spot. Good for Tory.Yes blowing up. Recent offers added include Baylor, Georgia Tech, Kansas State, Colorado, Arizona State, and Cal. Add those offers to Nebraska, Arkansas, Penn State, Iowa, Creighton, Wichita State, Marquette, and Minnesota. Arkansas and Tim Miles at CSU were his first two offers on the same day. A month later Coach Miles extended an NU offer when he came here. Miller came up for an unofficial last summer. Then Miller reclassified from 2013 to 2014. Tory's uncle is former Arkansas player Clint McDaniel. So weve got that working against us. But at one point last year he eliminated Arkansas from his list. I'm pretty sure Robin wrote an article about this, I'll have to go back and do some reading. Now that he's got all these other offers who knows where we stand. Hopefully Miles can get him in here for an official. Quote
ajb5856 Posted July 31, 2013 Report Posted July 31, 2013 After scanning some pay sites this is what I learned: -Miller is open to going to school anywhere in the country -He is listening to anybody who is willing to pay for his college -He wants to sit down after July (we are so close!) and decide where to take official visits -Wants to commit somewhere by November at the latest, made another comment that he may commit late summer of fall and just wants to end the process -He commented that Coach Miles gave him his first offer -After he visited here last summer he said he felt 'comfortable' being here Quote
