You bald-faced hypocrite.

A woman made an accusation against Keontae Johnson for sexually assaulting her. She never recanted. He admitted having sex with her. He claims it was consensual. Witnesses say she was so drunk she was incoherent. She denies consenting.

Chris Beard's fiance denies he tried to strangle her and says she told cops that the night he was arrested.

Surely you see the difference.

Going to insults I see, nice

Please, if you are too arrogant to see the difference between the police showing up seeing a battered and bruised women. Taking her statement and arresting the criminal vs a he said / she said situation, I’m glad you are not in charge at UNL.

Down vote me all you want

OK so you think it's wrong to expect people to be consistent across threads? OK.

Being inconsistent across threads would be to advocate that we might not know the whole story in one instance and then smearing some guy in this thread, not because you actually care, but because you just want to score some points.

What I'm saying is wrong is to smash up some other thread because you're so put out about thinking you might have lost an argument in another.

No ... being inconsistent across threads is saying, as to one guy, I'm happy to ignore the credible accusation made against this guy who we think we could have had but, as it turns out, is having a great season for someone else, while simultaneously saying that another guy is toxic because of a credible accusation against him.

Either we accept credible accusations and find them disqualifying or we don't.

As to Beard, I was told that his fiancée recanting her accusation wasn't sufficient because there was an arrest report showing cops what she said at the time and lots of powerful people can get women to withdraw complaints for whatever reasons.

But, for some reason, with Keontae Johnson, we can ignore an accusation against him by someone who did not recant simply because cops decided the evidence was not strong enough to charge him.

I'm just pointing out there might be a bit of a double standard going on here.

It's a legitimate point. You just don't like it because you would have taken Johnson but don't want Beard.

I'm very clear that what I don't like is that you're spilling this into multiple threads so let me rectify that by moving it to the appropriate thread.

Also I have no idea if I would want Beard as a coach or not.  Heck, I don't even know how exactly I feel about the coach we have currently.

So what you're saying is I don't get to respond at all to Royal fan specifically calling me out saying we dropped the ball on Keontae Johnson. See the post immediately prior to the one of mine that you moved.

You're also saying you like being able to have it both ways.

Since we didn't actually sign Keontae Johnson and he's no longer a recruit, and because the current discussion about him centers around how well he's playing for someone else, it seems like that thread should be moved over here as well.

I didn't catch that you were disingenuously trying to set up this 'gotcha' moment because like everyone else assumed you were talking about his health.

You're implying that the basketball team was cleared by the athletic department to bring in KJ but once he got there 'then' someone googled him and that, not his health history, was the deal.  Also, you're bringing this up months later. Top notch setup.

Sorry, after reflecting on my post I have realized that this question wasn't in good faith at all. Which is quite hypocritical. So I'll edit my question to be an observation:

Many times when you engage with others who have different beliefs than you, your responses comes across to me as not coming from a place of trying to see the other person's side, but instead that you use strawmen arguments to "win." it rubs me the wrong way (and based on many of the recent posts in this thread, I'm guessing I'm not the only one who feels that way).

Leaving my original post in for transparency:

This is an honest question here - do you ever enter into an argument in good faith?

Oh bullshit. There was nothing disingenuous about it. People were going on about how we dropped the ball on Keontae Johnson, including coming after ME specifically, and I just pointed out how I hope they were just as willing to consider Chris Beard as a potential coach.

Otherwise, they're just being hypocrites.

You're the one who blew this up.
