March Madness > Bowl Games

There are some big name players skipping bowl games this year for fear of being injured thus hurting their draft status.  Can anyone remember a college basketball player doing the same thing to his team during the NCAA tournament in March?  Just another reason March Madness is superior to the bowl system.  I don't think anyone has left his team that made the final 4 football playoffs, yet.  I just don't get the excitement that surrounds a football game that is basically meaningless.  Here are the names thus far:

Games that Matter > Games that don't Matter. Playoff expansion would change that. No point in playing an exhibition without a title on the line. No one is opting out of playoff games.

It's what goes on in March between the Samuel L. Jackson Capitol One commercials.

Maybe it's my old man syndrome, but if I was an NFL GM, I might skip these players if they opt out.

 

That's probably why I am not an NFL GM.
