Exactly this. I was never expecting a win against Iowa, nor was on the hype train after two straight wins to blow through that one.

 

But if we played sound fundamental ball, we lose by 18. Instead, we get embarrassed with a 38 point beating.

When you look at all of the stats and not just points and shooting, Thor is probably our best all-around player.

what is the blueprint for this team being good next year?

 

1-3 - trey,bryce,dalano

 

4-5- lat and eduardo

bench stevenson, walker, yvan, keisei, Wilhelm

 

i don't see a huge improvement unless we add a legitimate point guard and a 3 and D wing this offseason

I'm glad they removed the four screen view... I have a hard enough time watching 1 of us sometimes... let alone 4 of us.

Defense has been a disaster the last 2 games.  Northwestern is shooting 60.5 % from the floor.  Iowa shot 51.4 %.

It's like, as soon as we show improvement somewhere and it gets attention, we quit. Great D since the pause, Teddy Allen scoring 41, slowing down and running sets

Maybe I'm thinking of this wrong, but it seems like Northwestern is the team pushing the tempo in this game. If we can't play at this tempo, which I believe is Hoiberg's forte, then clearly we don't have the right pieces to make that work (even against a team like Northwestern).

I'd like them to put body cams on the three refs...see what they should be seeing/calling

you kinda can't let teams shoot 60 % from the field and live to talk about it. 

 

still not able to get a picture for this game yet, so I'm wondering if it's a case of not good defense or just a super lucky hot NW team?

I'm glad we are getting all pumped when we make a three, but that only works to get back into the game when don't let them make a three on the other end.
