I can still hear Iba screaming,"Up, Andre, Up"  With that high pitched voice he had when he was coaching. :D

 

Makes me smile,   because that is what my Reserve High School basketball coach used to yell at us.

 

He was a Husker grad, that preached that Iba defense.

 

Up and close, I still hear it in my sleep some nights.

Didn't notice this before but Stan Cloudy's Bio doesn't match his description as he played in the 80s.

I think they just got the years wrong

Looks like they have it partially corrected now as it says 1983 NIT, but then goes on to say 2004 season for 2nd team all conf. honors.   Loved Cloudy, one smooth dude.

I didn't vote because for some reason the page was lost on my computer. I would have written in one of my personal favorites, Curtis Moore, however. Since I am a retro guy, I would have added Andre, Jack, Hoppen, and Bill Jackman to the mix.

Dave Hoppen

Tyronn Lue

Erick Strickland

Andre Smith

 

It would have been a blast to see these players perform together (virtually, at least) in a game setting. Two posts like Hoppen & Smith surrounded by playmakers like Lue & Strick with the Polish Rifle bombing from deep. I'd have a guy like DC as a backup post & forwards such as 'Smooth' Carl Hayes, Terrance Badgett & Stan 'the Man' Cloudy to go with a variety of guard play in Cookie Belcher, Cary Cochran & Jack Moore. Would be a fun team of 12 Husker greats that could go off at any point in time versus a range of opponent strengths/weaknesses. Perhaps they'd be a great team for the ages.

I think someone had "Reed" in there... I'd be good with Beau Reid as well as Jamar Johnson in the mix!

I'm pretty sure when they recruited Fort they told him he would be playing in a new arena. But construction was slow, and it didn't open until March, 1976. Jerry just missed out.

Like your addition of Hoppen. Hard to not have the only guy whose jersey is hanging from PBA who played at Devaney not on the all Devaney team.
