UCF is a must win

Not to put words in your father's mouth, @PimpMario, but if we're going to have a miracle season I'm thinking this falls into the next episode of "must win."

 

What else is at stake? How about.... winner takes a coach from the other team's school?

I think the team and staff believe this is a critical game and tournament.  I would love to come away with a 3-0 record and at a minimum we need to be 2-1.

I actually feel confident that 3-0 could happen this year as well.  We have the horses needed to run the race this year.

Not sure where the "3-0 is possible" logic is coming from...

 

A team that just smacked us by 20+ points is in the field. Oh and that team is probably only the 4th best team in the tournament.

It's not like we're the favorite or anything, but UCF's big man has missed games (he did play Friday, though) and their point guard is out. West Virginia is another matter.

UCF is missing BJ Taylor (arguably their best players) and Dawkins (starting PG) so hopefully we can beat these guys.  They do have a 7'6 monster that could be tough, so hopefully between Jordy and Duby we can keep him in check. 

 

Right now they are shooting (as a team) 24% from 3 point range, so hopefully they stay cold. 

 

This is definitely a very winnable game and I hope we play well and get the win.  These "neutral" court games can be big boost for RPI.

We played against a small St. John's team and yet, IIRC, I think they beat us on blocks among many other stats. If Tacko doesn't fall, it'll be tough to drive inside the paint.

As you mentioned elsewhere, these 'buy' games are must-wins. That's the crux of the matter.

Gonna be a weird feeling for Jordy, Copeland, Roby, Duby, etc to have someone (Taco Fall) towering over them lol.

I think the lineup of Glynn, Taylor, Palmer, Roby, Copeland presents some challenges for Tacko.

 

I also think that Jordy and Dube present some other challenges for Tacko.

 

His FG percentage is really good overall.  His FT percentage, especially the last two years is not.

 

In games against better competition last year, he didn't play great.  His best game was against Villinova.  Struggled against UMASS, Colorado, Illinois, TCU.

The bigger you are, the harder Tacko Fall(s).
