Springs was a starter, and will certainly be missed, but Mason and Coffee should be able pick up the slack.... AND Michigan is playin' with "house money" so to speak. Can anyone shut down Derrick Walton? Big Blue might go on a bit of a run as well.

I will say this.. I look at the bracket and there is not one  Big 10 team that I am like "YEP!  They are a shoe in for the Sweet 16."

Michigan is just white-hot right now, I wouldn't be picking against them in the first weekend.

 

Northwestern is also the kind of team that wouldn't surprise me to just go unconscious and do something stupid like go to the Regional final or something...or they could get blown out in the first round.

 

Wisconsin has the "been there done that" swagger about them, they will be dangerous.

 

Purdue's got Biggie Swanigan and he's the kind of player that can carry a team to the Final Four.

 

Michigan State's got the Izzo factor and lots of rest.  Don't sleep on Sparty.

Michigan might be white hot, but did they load all the eggs in the basket to win the B1G Sunday?  Sometimes these teams get rolled the first week because they reached a goal and it is mentally hard for them to shift gears.

 

Now that I said that they will be a final four team.

It's possible they peaked too early and that may begin to fizzle out after putting so much emotion and effort into winning the B1G Tourney.  Their hot shooting will have to continue to stay hot if they want to make a deep run.

I'd forgotten that "Loserville" USA 's soccer team had been bumped up to the MLS. Trust me, in the Star Tribune those 2 games were considered "moral victories."
