6'-3" 190# PG from Pickerington Central H.S. in Ohio. Class of '19.

His dad Jerry and Jay Burson were the stars of the Gary Williams coached Ohio State team that beat Nebraska in the Ameritas Classic final one year. I have no idea how I remembered that.

 

But I didn't remember that Jerry Francis was an assistant at NU in 2005-06. That, I had to look up.

Yep

 

That was always a pretty good little two game tournament.  

 

Used to stick around and take my boys down to the front row for the second Friday game.

 

 They were like 5,7,9 and they got to see the game up close.

 

Also wasn't that the tournament one time where some of the Red Zone stayed and cheered for some smaller school and then went to like Creighton later that year and made their own shirts and had their own group and cheered them on?

Actually, Jimmy, we lost in Collier's first year to Western Carolina in the first round.  One of the worst efforts I have ever seen out of a Husker team.

The assistant recruiting him from Iowa is Andrew Francis.  I don't know if they're related or not.
