So, what happened that all of a sudden this kid is getting a ton of offers?

He did well last weekend here.

Last couple of weekends have been pretty big recruiting weekends

A right handed shooter that goes to his left a lot. That's interesting to me...

ALL good shooters should go to their off hand to get their shot off, more often. If you are a righty, your right side of your body should lead and be more towards the hoop - if you are driving, dribbling left, your body and shoulder positioning is perfect to rise and pop your shot. Going to the right (as a righty) means you typically have to turn your body in air, and bring the ball to the defender.

Easier to step back going to your weakhand also.

It's much easier for right handed shooters to get a shot off going left.

I believe you. It just seems like there's a lot of them that struggle to go left. I could be wrong about that, though.

Unnhhhhhh.  Starting to make sense!  (but my eyes still glaze over when reading your 'motion-offense' Dean ;))

I didn't see your post or I wouldn't have made the "easier going left" post. You actually tried to explain why, when I took the lazy route and just said "cuz'"

I don't like the stepback personally, but if the "D" cuts you off that means you're are crossing or spinning back to your strong hand.

You'll never see me complain about you echoing my statements.

Very good point about the crossing over/spinning back. Especially if you're a righty, going middle (with left) from the right wing - any move takes you to your right hand finish. Good point.

I personally (as I when I'm playing), love the step back from my weak hand. Has always felt so natural to me. The biggest problem I always had shooting "in game" or just pick up or whatever was I'd get too "juiced" and put too much oomph into the shot. When I stepped back, I think it took some of that forward momentum out of it and just let me release the ball freely.

No idea why I'm internally hashing this out on a thread about a recruit - so back to the regular scheduled program.

Why would posting that Herro got an offer from the Hoosiers illicit a negative feedback?! Don't shoot the messenger, in other words.

I helped you out. Nobody wants a dead messenger.

Thanks, trickey. Always wonder, perhaps it's a fat-finger deal... but, then, that would mean someone would have intended to up-vote it instead. ;)
