uneblinstu’s postgame chatter: vol 11, ed 10 - creighton

Haha, my brothers know this guy and were talking about it at the game! -
I hate CU. Not enough time or space to explain why. GBR!

uneblinstu’s postgame chatter: vol 11, ed 8 - Illinois

I wasn't planning on sharing this, but since Moos's name and his lack of appearances has been noticed, here we go. Over Thanksgiving, I was talking with a family member with significant ties to the University. Without going into great detail or revealing who he is, I would say he is towards the top in his department. He spoke of some issues pertaining to Moos, and he said that he wouldn't be surprised if we are searching for a new AD after January 1. I was somewhat shocked. I will be curious to see if anything comes of it. -
I'll take it a step further...I really hate it when one of them says "We" during the fall for the Huskers, then says "We" during bball, but the "We" is then for the Jays ?.

We're 7-1, Kenpom and NET top 25, with a win over ...

I love what we have, so I'm just hoping for a refinishing, not a new design. -
Agreed. I didn't feel like I was watching a team that just beat Duke or one that is #1 in the nation.

Zags look awful, and CU shot well early. Hope the Zags play with their hair on fire 2nd half.

5 charges drawn by one guy, seriously?! Is that even possible? This block/charge rule is ridiculous.

Palmer and Roby seem to be getting a reputation unfairly with some of the whistles that go against them. That ticky-tack foul on the jump shooter could be called every time. I've watched our shooters get their hands hit countless times the past couple years, yet we don't get the calls. And Palmer's offensive foul when he dished it to Cope was AWFUL. Thomas was moving and slid under as Palmer was in the air. The announcers, right on cue, talked about the "great" defensive play by Thomas, and all I wanted to do was throw up in disgust by the putrid call.

Western Illinois (2-3) vs. Nebraska (4-1) Game Thread
jason2486 replied to Bugeaters1's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Weight-wise, looks like he could've fit in our offense. Oh well, his loss. -
In a way, he reminds me of Toney McCray, who I thought never reached his full potential (partly, I believe, because of Doc's short leash). Roby is more talented and has a higher ceiling, but I always thought McCray was one of Doc's best recruits potential-wise. For whatever reason, he never reached his full potential IMO. Like Roby, he seemed to have almost a too laid-back personality. I really hope Roby doesn't turn out to be McCray 2.0.

When it comes to guys playing 35+ minutes, I don't see any real issues. These guys are in the best shape of their lives. They are guaranteed a TV timeout break every 4 minutes or so. There is little reason that they shouldn't be able to play that many minutes if needed. -
I've always thought Glynn, probably from being a Chicago kid, has some MJ to his game. The way he shoots, dribbles, and hangs in the air on layups reminds so much of the GOAT (except for the size part). He will go down as one of my all-time favorites.

Speaking of that game, anyone know of or know how to get a copy of that game on youtube? That was a fun game, and we made a decent run if I recall to make it close at the end.

Crazy that, with those numbers, we aren't #1 in both!

Exhibition: Nebraska vs Wayne State - Nov. 1
jason2486 replied to AuroranHusker's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Nana has a chance to be a more athletic Andrew White, although i'd like to see a bit more arch on his jumper. He also needs to pick it up on the defensive end substantially. -
I sat by his dad at a game last year, and I asked about this being a possibility. Congrats Jake! I will miss Matt and hope he gets to call some games in the future.

First practice of the 2018-19 college basketball season
jason2486 replied to AuroranHusker's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Nice! I hope we get more practice reports. I know this mainly has to do with media access, but in comparison to football, which has 4 or 5 articles a day, it'd be nice to get a practice report a couple times per week for bball. -
I think he looks more athletic, but there are some similarities to Jack.

I did always feel that Sek was held back. I remember when we got him that he appeared to be a tremendous recruit from all I had read at the time. Sorta got the Toney McCray treatment, never really given the chance to shine.

2021 F Matthew Mors -> Wisconsin
jason2486 replied to Navin R. Johnson's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Wisconsin's 247 sports page has video from their camp a couple weeks back. No way does he look or play like a freshman to be! He looks like the next Eric Piatkowski (maybe more athletic, but the same hair, and also from South Dakota)!! I couldn't link it, but if someone finds it, please post. It is quite impressive, and I'm thinking he has to be number 1 on our list for 2021. Maybe another reason we are playing Okie State there this season. -
Selfish. I want to wish him well, but like AW3, I don't think I can. He has now bailed on us twice. Enjoy Tennessee Tech State or wherever you go to average 6 points and 5 rebounds.
