  1. I always thought Sek would at least get some G League love.
  2. I watched the 4th quarter. While he struggled shooting, he had some nice passes, including an alley-oop assist. He played nice D as well.
  3. Me too!
  4. I had a family reunion in Belvadere! Some old auditorium if I remember right!
  5. Great point! I think one of the hardest things for people to realize is just how skilled these guys are, especially on offense. Great defense tends to lose to great offense, so I think what sometimes appears to be poor defense or a lack of effort is actually more about how good NBA guys are offensively. Not to mention, 82 games is a grind!
  6. Do explain!
  7. JHC, I don't know how many more ways or times I ( or others on this board) have to say that KD took the EASIEST path by joining a proven championship team who had just won 73 games. That same team had just beaten KD, ending his season. While I hated that LeBron did the whole Miami thing, he didn't join a team that was knocking him out of the playoffs either. LeBron didn't join a superteam, he helped create one.
  8. Colhusker, atskooc, you guys are both clearly KD fans or dislike LeBron, which is your choice, no problem, but you're missing the point. Season's over, back to Husker hoops!
  9. LeBron has led 9 teams to the Finals (CLE 5 times), won 3. How often did KD do that before joining GSW. LeBron never went to a team that just set a league record for wins. I actually hated it when he went to Miami, and although I still liked him as an individual, I rooted against the Heat his 4 years there. However, I can't totally blame him if he leaves again. I hope he stays, but when you have a guy on your team who doesn't even know the score at the end of the game, that's gotta be frustrating. If he plays bad or average, they typically don't win.
  10. Just like your education example, this comparison doesn't make sense either. If I was a Missouri fan, AW3 leaving Nebraska and going to Syracuse wouldn't affect me in any way. As a LeBron fan, this directly affects me because it might be the difference between the Cavs being 3-1 instead of (most likely) 1-3 against the Warriors in the Finals.
  11. Sorry, but that education scenario is totally different than what KD did. He joined a 73-win team after his own team choked up 3-1. He basically took any pressure off of himself knowing that he has 4 or 5 others who can make up for him when he has an abysmal game.
  12. I'm just sick of seeing the Warriors have 5 all Stars play, 2-3 of them can no-show, yet they still win. Almost impossible to beat. I still am upset at KD for running to a team he couldn't beat.
  13. Don't forget the refs blowing 4 or 5 calls in favor of GSW. LeBron should've been shooting the and 1 on his last drive of regulation. And the change of the charge call was ridiculous. Just make every questionable call reviewable then.
  14. Korver is the only CU player I really like!
  15. D-Wade, what a lucky guy!
  16. My feelings on him being a must get are along the parameters that we take chances so many times on kids outside of the state. Let's give this kid a chance if he wants to be here. You can't teach his length. I would hate to see a Khyri Thomas-type situation where a local kid becomes NBA material and we let him get away. I agree that we can be a successful winning program without kids from this state. However, we have yet to sustain that success. So we have no evidence that leads us to say that we are going to get sustained success without some local talent. And having local talent is just another thing for our fan base to rally around. I don't like to compare our football program with the basketball program, but when you look at how much pride there is in the walk-on program, I think we need to have some of that same pride with local talent on our basketball team. There is probably no way we are ever a successful team with a bunch of home-grown basketball players. However, we should always be trying to get the top one or two prospects in our state on a consistent basis.
  17. I still lean that he's a must get, if he wants to be here and we want him here that is. And, obviously, if grades and attitude are in order.
  18. Here's one thing that bothers me about our lack of in-state recruiting. Was Thor any better of a recruit than Wingett out of high school? I'm excited about Thor, but is it worth bringing a project from out of the country versus a project within an hour or two?
  19. Numbers like this just make me more depressed. We truly are in rare air. It is unbelievable the misfortune our bball program has produced in 100+ years.
  20. I think he is a must get for this staff. Hear me out: Through the Sadler and Miles eras, we have constantly relied on diamonds in the rough or out-of-state players. While many of those guys have been my favorites through the years, how many NCAA tournament wins have they gotten us? We all know the answer to that. I am ready to see us taking more chances on in-state kids. No offense to guys like Thor, who might turn out to be great, but why not focus more on kids within a 50-to-100 mile radius. I find it somewhat sad we take chances on kids from Iceland and Australia, yet not very often with the locals. With Chang's height and length, as well as his shooting ability and athleticism, to me, he is a no-brainer. I understand that grades could be a hold up. However if they are not, we need to get him. If Creighton beats us out, consider me pissed.
  21. Agreed, and I'm a huge MJ guy, my favorite all-time player. For a guy who makes it to the Finals every year, he sure gets criticized a lot.
  22. Moe Wagner signing with an agent.
  23. Is there any credence to us reaching out to Altman, or is that just pure speculation?
  24. Unfortunately, this would make perfect sense in our world that is Nebrasketball.
