I talked to him for a bit after the game. One of my all-time favorites and a great person.

The NIT is basically like any non-playoff bowl game: most teams could give a sh*t. I don't put much, if any, stock in NIT outcomes. I don't think the B1G is that much greater this year. Teams should get better as the year progresses, yet the non-con basically seals your conference's fate for the year, which makes little sense. By the end of last year, our conference was as good as any IMO. We got screwed, no doubt. -

Where was Nana the 2nd half. He shot with confidence, brought great energy, and had 5 rebounds in the 1st. I don't get why he saw 0 2nd half minutes. -
More evidence that there is something missing between administration and the basketball program. During the pregame with KP, Boehm said that "Andre" Dagunduro would be in attendance for legends weekend.

One word...depressing -
Maybe this will be our Indiana-Michigan State game. Indiana down Morgan, McRoberts, and riding a 7-game losing streak, had no business winning.

Their big man recruiting tactics are a complete 180 from ours. They ALWAYS have 2 or 3 legit big men.

Hell, even when we've had teams that can shoot (2002 vs Kansas), we bury 18 3's and LOSE. The basketball gods seem to be mighty cruel to us. -
Sorry, let me explain myself better. I don't think Nee was bad either, or Cip or Iba for that matter. What I'm getting at is that it hasn't mattered who we have had, they have all essentially experienced the same fate (Cip was different obviously from what I've read, I'm only 34). Miles and Nee are similar to me. Take the 96 NIT champs. That team had Lue, Strickland, Moore, Hamilton, Badgett, and Boone. 4 of them played in the NBA, one went on to be the B12 POY (on a team that didn't even make the Dance in 98-99), and Boone was probably as talented if not more than all but never made the NBA for personal reasons. For that team to be an NIT team is similar to this year's, but probably worse. That team should've been a sweet 16/elite 8 team, but instead, goes and wins the NIT.

Just 3? How many NCAA wins did Nee, Cip, and Iba combine for? How many conference titles. I know the landscape has changed and the number of teams who dance, etc., but we weren't exactly on fire before the 2000s.

If I recall correctly, just like this year, we were the B1G's oldest team Doc's last season. I remember with Spencer, McCray, Diaz, Walker, and Richardson, thinking we should be decent. Boy, was I wrong. It definitely proved that experience can be overrated, and that I probably overhyped that team's talent. -
This is one of the best (and saddest) posts I've ever read on here. It's a thought I think of frequently. We have played ball for over 100 years, yet each coach here has not gotten over the "hump". I am seriously concerned that we will never get it done. I love Miles, and he has done so many good things for us. He has also mightily struggled at times, arguably too much at times. However, it's not like he took over a Kentucky or Duke (hell, even a Kansas State or Iowa State) and ran it into the ground. He took over arguably one of, if not the least successful, Power 5 bball programs in the history of college basketball. Now, I'm not saying we lower expectations. We should be in the conversation to dance regularly, be able to win once there, and occasionally make a Sweet 16/Elite 8 run. But our program has never reached those heights. Last year's team had a chance if they would've been given a ticket to the Dance, I truly believe that, and this year's looked the part early. As mad as I get, and am right now, what hope do we have that firing Miles suddenly fixes things? Weren't Cip, Iba, Nee, Collier, Sadler, and Miles all supposed to be the Guy to get us to the next level? Well, guess what, none have. I feel like we have the closest one to get us to those places that we have ever had. I don't see Moos picking someone who is going to have us in much different of a situation 5-7 years from now. I would be OK with us going with Miles for another 3-5 years. I fear far greater what will most likely happen if we blow this thing up compared to if we patch up the ship and help the Captain get better.

14-15 was also a real struggle to score. If I recall correctly, we won a 2OT game by scoring 50 or 60 some points. What a sad season that was once so promising. Easily the most disappointing season I can recall, and I've been watching since I was 7 or 8 (1992ish). For the first time in my life, I decided to not watch or listen to the game. I told myself I would wait until it was over to see the score, then watch if we won. I was so upset after Saturday (and obviously the last month as a whole) that I emotionally needed a break. I even turned down row 11 tickets. I love the team and will watch the rest of the games this year, but I am glad I took the night off. The game thread was sad enough, I wouldn't have handled it well live. -
They were ripe for the picking in Lincoln...if we could've made anything that night.

I'm going to piggyback on your thoughts and add that it seems every other team I watch (and the ones we play) catch passes in rhythm and shoot the jumper or 3 pointer. We rarely catch passes in rhythm, and when we do, we hardly ever go up right away with a shot. To me, that's one of our biggest issues. When we have a rhythm shot opportunity, our guys tend to hesitate or use a worthless dribble that goes nowhere. Allen, Nana, and Roby are particularly bad at this. -
We gotta find a way to right this ship. Indiana was playing without McRoberts, and Morgan went out in the 1st half with an injury and didn't return. Plus, it was at East Lansing. How in the hell did Indiana find a way?!
