I thought it stood for "All About Under-the-table-deals-being-made-by-apparel-companies-and-universities-to-make-big-contract-deals-with-future-players-then-look-the-other-way-when-asked-if-there's-corruption-in-college-basketball-until-the-FBI-steps-in-then-you-let-them-enforce-the-rules-of-your-own-organization-that-you-pathetically-don't-enforce"? But maybe that's just me -
This song was written about Nebraska basketball and their quest to win an NCAA tournament game:

It hurts when that's your best recruit for the 2018 class.

Is Bill Moos going to give me a year off my donations?

Agree with the full post. For this particular snippet, can we blame Hunter for leaving? It's sad, but I do think he made a good move professionally (and likely personally just to go back to his region of the country). I don't want to look back and think "man, it hurts that he left" but....man it hurts that he left. I hope we can find a replacement under Miles' regime that can replace that void. -
I'll complain about it if you do.

What worries me is that the problems might run deeper than what we're exposed to right now.

Moos trying to find Miles' contract extension:

I can't find reliable confirmation anywhere yet, but I saw from a couple people that he might be taking a role at the pro level.

Barry's is just as much a victim as Kansas is with this FBI investigation -
Ask Kevin Bacon. There's gotta be at least ONE! (you'd think)

Taylor Martinez and Andrew White III would think otherwise -
You're not THAT crazy...

It's almost time to put a bow on this thread for the offseason: https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/college-basketball-coaching-carousel-the-final-few-jobs-still-open-are-getting-ready-to-close/

What are you talking about?

And to add to that. Aside from stability, this move for Kenya is an important one. It gets him under another coach's system, working with different players with different talents from different regions, and exposes him to new contacts whether that's players, high school/college coaches, parents, or ADs. He's doing what he needs to in order to build his head coaching resume for a time his name may get called up to an open position. I wish him all the best in achieving that goal.

Ominous Tweet Re: Roster Attrition

ZAY, WHAT? (The pic doesn't show up, by the way.) Hopefully it's not a euphemism for "broken", "missing", et. al. -
I don't think anybody should be forced to stay anywhere. Now, you can have some opportunity cost involved to sway a decision, but they should never be locked into something they do not want to do. When I've signed the contract at my prior jobs, nobody said I had to stay there for x-years and I must honor it. But if I did leave early, then I wouldn't be vested in certain things like retirement or bonuses. And there were incentives to stay with the company longer by offering more vacation time, etc. It's not apples to apples, but the concept should still hold true. Don't actually handcuff anyone. But maybe put some golden handcuffs on to incentivize them to stick it out.

It all depends on the quality of those applicants. I'd take only 5 interested callers who are stellar coaches over 100 interested callers who aren't going to fit the program.
-
I'm starting to think that Hunter's news at least had a part in Moos slow rolling this decision/announcement. They likely spent a good chunk of time and energy in figuring out how to manage this and have a plan going forward before solidifying any sort of contract with Miles.

For some people/programs, the only shame they feel is having been caught. Athletes will still want to go to Kansas to get exposure to get to the NBA, fans will still attend the games, coaches will still want to coach there if Self is no longer there, and sports fans will still watch Kansas play in the tournament. Depending on your moral compass, a shattered reputation can still be more valuable than no reputation at all.
