We haven't seen a bad stretch of games like this for two whole seasons. There's something to be said about how our fanbases' expectations have shifted. I think the area of concern right now is that we're 0-4 in one-score games this year (if you count OT as one-score). Ideally, you'd want to see some give-and-take on those where they go 50/50. This could hurt us as we approach March. Time will tell.

Maybe it's just me, but it feels like our offense might need some more work than our defense does.

Another one-score loss for Nebraska.

This environment should really help prepare us for our matchup at Penn State on Feb. 19. It's not every day you get to play in a library.

The 10 people watching at the game are not impressed.

And then these Big Ten teams look lost in March when they can't get away with anything during the tournament.

Almost as many turnovers as points right now.

As a Nebraska fan, I'm most interested to see how Sam McKewon addresses Coach Cook's offseason activities. Because clearly Sam's an expert.

This is why we can't have nice things.

I know the Purdue game was bad, and can see how that's adding far more concern than before that game was played. But 2 of our last 3 games were decided by 1-score or less. Sure, there's a number of areas the team is going to have to work on. But are we really that broken? Feels like this board thinks we won't even qualify for the third grade girls YMCA tournament at this point.

But this season isn't feeling quite like a dud just yet. Maybe it's more that looking ahead is just a gauntlet. We started off the season in the best position in decades. And we hit our first three game losing streak in two years. And our first loss at home in 20 games. Sure, we've hit a patch, but we also started ahead. If we end strong, then it's not out of the realm of possibility we end up similar or better than last season. But the team needs to find it's groove.
