any ideas? Really hoping to watch the opener tonight. A free live steam online would work too.

Looks like he had a couple D-1 football offers. We need as many big bodies as we can get at this point.

Bring them back

Kid wants to transfer schools, has to get approved by the NCAA, new school has to be approved by the head coach, and he has to sit out a year. Coach jumps from 3 schools in a matter of 4 months, zero repercussions.

Connection or not, this isn't a good look for the program. Lots of player and coach attrition. Seems like everytime we try to take a step forward something brings us right back. Very frustrating.

This team just invented a new level of incompetence.

All speculation. It wasn't that great of a job at the time. Other than a 5 year stretch, years and years of futility. Switching conferences which caused many coaches to think it would be a recruiting wasteland. As it turned out, the rest of the conference chose to compete, by upgrading facilities, changing coaches, increasing budgets. But that wasn't a given then. Just as we have seen in football and basketball, facilities and fan base alone doesn't mean you can hire anyone you want, or recruit with the SEC. O'Conner wasn't coming here when we hired Erstad. He just wasn't. Easy for us to sit on the sidelines and presume Osborne could have hired anyone he wanted to the tundra that is the Big 10. But I don't think that was the case at the time. None of us know who we contacted, and what interest there was in the job. The coaches you cite look good now, but it wasn't like they were huge names then. People make it sound like we voluntarily chose to be in this situation and the hire was a complete failure. It's looking grim now, but we had immediate improvement under Ersty, and have accomplished way more than we had in the 3 years before he got the job. Top guy may have been hyperbole. O'Connor was never on the table as well, that's obvious. All I'm saying is we could have gotten a proven guy who has had success other than a total question mark with one year of coaching experience. And sure we have had some improvement since Mike Anderson left, but 9-14 in the B1G is not close to where this program should be in year 4. Looking at whats coming back next year, I dont think we will see much improvement either. I hope I'm wrong.

Other teams in the conf hired baseball coaches that are proven to be good. Rick Heller is a heck of a baseball coach, so is Eric Bakich and Hartleb. If Silva and the pitching staff doesn't bail us out this year were probably sitting at .500 and having a discussion about a future job opening. The fact of the matter is we have the best facilities, fan support, and recent success in the entire conf., having the 5-6th best coach in the conf is just unacceptable. We have the money/resources to get a top guy here, but just flat didn't do it.
-
We're consistently getting beat by teams with half the support, half the facilities and half the history of us. I like Erstad as a person, but damn if it doesn't appear hes in over his head. Really hate the feeling of having to wait another 1-2 years for us to to get a feel on Erstad and wait another 2 to rebuild if we get a new coach. Wouldn't be surprised if we had to wait 4 years to see us in a regional again.
-
Well thats it for an at-large bid. Just a bad baseball team right now. One regional in 4 years is unacceptball.

This is the most frustrated I have ever been watching a team. No one can make a hit in a big moment, its unbelievable.

2016 PF/C Mitch Lightfoot -> Kansas
The Polish Rifle replied to The Polish Rifle's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
He is a 2016 recruit. The amount of booze I had last night has impacted my reading comprehension. -
Same school as Bakari.....Previously committed to New Mexico and just reopened his commitment. 4 star center by espn and rivals 150 as a PF. Would be a huge get this late. ******He is a 2015 recruit, got a little ahead of myself with the thread title

If you are a grad transfer big, I cant see how you wouldn't have Nebraska as a possible destination (homer alert). We have facilities that could be a 5 star resort (when your not kicked out of them), you will most likely be a starter the second you step on campus, and you will be playing in the best basketball conference in the nation. Hopefully this is Miles "rabbit".

I think the kid is just soft spoken. I read the Washut article and the one from his visit to Georgia, and he didn't rave in either of them. He also said he might take one more visit to K-State before making his decision but he also might not. That makes me think we are not out of the picture at all.

Love TP and wish him the best, but I'm not too worried about the wing position at this point. As of right now we have one, unproven center on our entire roster that's what worries me. We also have a huge ? at the point guard position. These are the things I am concerned about going into next year.

Transfer Marcus Marshall (Missouri St.) -> Nevada
The Polish Rifle replied to Huskerbb73's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Sadly its also what CBB has become. There is the occasional teams that are built over years of teamwork + blood, sweat, and tears. But most the top teams are getting hired gun after hired gun to compete at the top. One and dones and grad transfers = CBB. That being said were gonna have to be the program to grind it out and build a winning culture. I know Miles can do it, but it will be a couple of years before we see the fruits of labor these kids are putting in right now. -
After watching the last couple games, whimper.......anything else would be shocking. This team stared their off-season a couple weeks ago.
-
When you break down our roster, its not exactly ideal. We lack a solid PG and a solid C. We have 2 good wings, though one is somewhat of a head case and a volume shooter. We caught lightning in a bottle at the end of last year, this team isn't good enough to do it again. I think the idea you brought up is completely correct, we don't have the talent to compete right now.

Nick Bahe said today what we have all been thinking. Why are Shields and Petteway not taking the ball to the basket before the defense can get set up? It has bothered me the last couple games. I'd rather play the odds with a strong take to the rim with Petteway or Shields early in the clock then have Rivers (no offense, I like the kid) put up a contested 15 footer late in the clock.
