  1. You had to bring facts to the table....I was content living in a world where 17-18 wins guaranteed us a NIT bid.
  2. 17 wins gets us CBI no problemo... 17 wins and were probably an NIT team. ASU went 17-15 (9-9) last year and Alabama went 18-14 (8-10) and both were NIT teams being in weaker conferences than the B1G. I would go as far as saying we would be an NIT lock with 18 wins. NIT is a very realistic goal for this group.
  3. Man that freshman in his second game went for 26 and 11, yikes. Were gonna get boat raced by the teams with a legit big.
  4. Can we dedicate an entire practice to boxing out please?
  5. The throw the ball around the perimeter and shoot a jumper as the shot clock expires offense isn't working too well....
  6. I need to see a lot more of NW before I consider them a top 6 type big 10 team. Sure they are 11-1 but they have played absolutely nobody. Not saying they wont get there, but I could see them slip big time come B1G play.
  7. why are we the only team in college basketball that cant get calls at home. I had to watch Kentucky shoot 46 fts at home last night to Illinois State's 10. Whenever Creighton is at the clink they shot 10 fts within the first 5 minutes of the game (which will happen against us in about a week). But we have a home game against at decent team and they get to the line 16 more times than us? I had to get that out, I can sleep better now. Thanks Husker Hoops Central for the venting platform.
  8. "Don't say you're suprised by this result, disappointed, sure, but not suprised. Nova's an excellent, experienced team." This about sums it up for me as well. This team showed us a glimpse of what it could be early, and a glimpse of what it was last year. That being said I think this team will continue to grow everytime out. Looking forward to what this group will look like come B1G play.
  9. any ideas? Really hoping to watch the opener tonight. A free live steam online would work too.
  10. Looks like he had a couple D-1 football offers. We need as many big bodies as we can get at this point.
  11. Bring them back
  12. Kid wants to transfer schools, has to get approved by the NCAA, new school has to be approved by the head coach, and he has to sit out a year. Coach jumps from 3 schools in a matter of 4 months, zero repercussions.
  13. Connection or not, this isn't a good look for the program. Lots of player and coach attrition. Seems like everytime we try to take a step forward something brings us right back. Very frustrating.
  14. This team just invented a new level of incompetence.
  15. All speculation. It wasn't that great of a job at the time. Other than a 5 year stretch, years and years of futility. Switching conferences which caused many coaches to think it would be a recruiting wasteland. As it turned out, the rest of the conference chose to compete, by upgrading facilities, changing coaches, increasing budgets. But that wasn't a given then. Just as we have seen in football and basketball, facilities and fan base alone doesn't mean you can hire anyone you want, or recruit with the SEC. O'Conner wasn't coming here when we hired Erstad. He just wasn't. Easy for us to sit on the sidelines and presume Osborne could have hired anyone he wanted to the tundra that is the Big 10. But I don't think that was the case at the time. None of us know who we contacted, and what interest there was in the job. The coaches you cite look good now, but it wasn't like they were huge names then. People make it sound like we voluntarily chose to be in this situation and the hire was a complete failure. It's looking grim now, but we had immediate improvement under Ersty, and have accomplished way more than we had in the 3 years before he got the job. Top guy may have been hyperbole. O'Connor was never on the table as well, that's obvious. All I'm saying is we could have gotten a proven guy who has had success other than a total question mark with one year of coaching experience. And sure we have had some improvement since Mike Anderson left, but 9-14 in the B1G is not close to where this program should be in year 4. Looking at whats coming back next year, I dont think we will see much improvement either. I hope I'm wrong.
  16. Other teams in the conf hired baseball coaches that are proven to be good. Rick Heller is a heck of a baseball coach, so is Eric Bakich and Hartleb. If Silva and the pitching staff doesn't bail us out this year were probably sitting at .500 and having a discussion about a future job opening. The fact of the matter is we have the best facilities, fan support, and recent success in the entire conf., having the 5-6th best coach in the conf is just unacceptable. We have the money/resources to get a top guy here, but just flat didn't do it.
  17. We're consistently getting beat by teams with half the support, half the facilities and half the history of us. I like Erstad as a person, but damn if it doesn't appear hes in over his head. Really hate the feeling of having to wait another 1-2 years for us to to get a feel on Erstad and wait another 2 to rebuild if we get a new coach. Wouldn't be surprised if we had to wait 4 years to see us in a regional again.
  18. Well thats it for an at-large bid. Just a bad baseball team right now. One regional in 4 years is unacceptball.
  19. This is the most frustrated I have ever been watching a team. No one can make a hit in a big moment, its unbelievable.
  20. He is a 2016 recruit. The amount of booze I had last night has impacted my reading comprehension.
  21. Same school as Bakari.....Previously committed to New Mexico and just reopened his commitment. 4 star center by espn and rivals 150 as a PF. Would be a huge get this late. ******He is a 2015 recruit, got a little ahead of myself with the thread title
  22. If you are a grad transfer big, I cant see how you wouldn't have Nebraska as a possible destination (homer alert). We have facilities that could be a 5 star resort (when your not kicked out of them), you will most likely be a starter the second you step on campus, and you will be playing in the best basketball conference in the nation. Hopefully this is Miles "rabbit".
  23. I think the kid is just soft spoken. I read the Washut article and the one from his visit to Georgia, and he didn't rave in either of them. He also said he might take one more visit to K-State before making his decision but he also might not. That makes me think we are not out of the picture at all.
