  1. Back to back banked 3's...really?
  2. Exactly what I was thinking, if you put those 2 together it could mean we have seen the last of biggs.
  3. OK, this is off topic, but how is Templeton Rye? Is really worth the extra $ over Old Rockgut, which I prefer when watching games? I like it. Its my go to, made in Iowa so you can usually find it at a decent price in Nebraska. It goes down real smooth, very little bite to it $28 at Walmart or Sams in CB. cant find it within $10 of that in Omaha. Very good stuff. Hey, thanks for all the info, at least some good came of this game! Looks like ill be making a trip to walmart in CB (cant be a pretty place), thanks man!
  4. I don't let past results predicate what is what. Not a recipe for success doing that. NW is easily the worst. Ill be honest that doesn't make much sense, if you don't judge a team on past proformence what do you judge them on?

  6. This was a bad one for me. We had a chance to turn a corner tonight against the worst team in the league and had them on the ropes, then pissed it down our leg. I'm gonna pour myself a glass of Templeton Rye, then another....then another
  7. Yep this was the game between the 2 worst teams in the league, NW is a notch above us.
  8. Where did you "check" to verify that the basketball team was the property of the students?? I would imagine that there are many many tax payers, coupled with many many boosters that would disagree with your contention. That's a tangent though. I appreciate the chicken and egg analogy, however my post was rooted in a lack of pride and passion from the students. If showing up big for the Ohio State and Michigan State games is one's measure of pride and passion, then I guess that's your way. A more passionate fan, in my estimation at least, are those that show up for most every game and cheer. Fans that had student tickets in college and chose to sign on as season ticket holders after. Fans who have endured year after year of mediocre basketball and still crawl back to the ticket office each Fall to renew their season tickets. Call them crotchety blue hairs if you want, but these people will follow suit with the level of excitement coming from the students; which in turn funnels to the players. Oregon. Iowa State. St. Mary's. These 3 schools for example have only recently begun to experience intermediate success as far as wins and losses are concerned, but have a longstanding history of being the more difficult places to win at due to the presence, coordination, and drive of their student sections. Shoot, the product Creighton has put on the floor at the Century Link is statistically worse than that of the CU teams that rounded out their era at the Civic Center, yet the energy in Century Link cannot be disputed. Yes, the alcohol factor should not be overlooked, however, the 18, 19, and 20 year olds in the student section aren't their drinking. Last, the counterpoints to mine have been to the tune of "students will cheer for big games" or "players need to give us something to cheer for." That's one way of looking at it I suppose. And, just maybe, I can accept that from the perception of a college kid. Another way to look at it is that Nebraska is on the cusp of being a decent team and having a strong, proud student section could be the small advantage we give ourselves to get over the hump and start scratching out some wins that may have otherwise been losses. With this comes confidence. And with confidence a team isn't set up for failure when they go on the road. Isn't this worth finding out? It the university basketball team, the students have claim to those seats as much as anyone. I'm pretty sure boosters are not out on their a$$ because we have a big student section. Lets reserve judgement until at least 1 B1G game before we label the student section as a bust. I'm pretty sure you will be more than happy.
  9. Man, things have really changed since I went to college in Lincoln. You forgot the most important part of the quote. "Were you really expecting the students to be out in full force on a Saturday before finals week against Arkansas St.?" This Saturday's atmosphere is not representative of how next semester's Saturday games against BIG foes will be. And put me in the camp who enjoys partaking on some weekdays, especially nebrasketball weekdays. However, many students don't, especially when finals are coming up. +1, this is stupid and probably the least of our problems right now, when the B1G teams start coming the student section will be crazy. Plus last time I checked this was the students basketball team and the kids playing are student athletes. Students should be able to experience those types of seats. When teams like Ohio St come to town we will be glad those seats will be filled with students and not the blue hairs that get upset when the person in front of them stands.
  10. Getting boat raced by iowa and creighton in the same month....someone wake me up when this nightmare is over.
  11. well boys, i talked some s**t before this game and now will have to eat some serious crow to some friends......does not feel good.
  12. This game is not the norm, I know they liked to discuss rule changes but i've been checking box scores and this was an outlier. Its over, time to move on and hope we don't see a clown show like we saw tonight the rest of the year.
  13. If you shoot in the lane, its a foul, new rule
  14. these refs need to calm down a little
  15. the kid is the only difference between this and a 15 point game
  16. Man this is ugly basketball
  17. everyone on our team is trying to get their shots up, need to move the ball around
  18. I think its far and away the best team we have seen yet and we were too lazy to start.
  19. shields just saved our a$$ there
  20. were down 8-3, been sloopy thus far
  21. So have we offered him or not? Robin says in the article that Smith was there to see him and an offer could be coming. Then the photo caption says Nebraska was the latest to offer... On top of that Robin says, "That interest includes offers from Arizona, Miami, Clemson, Gonzaga, Purdue, Tennessee, Texas Tech" but none are listed on any site.....thats a insane offer list if true
  22. He is raw on the offense end, but already has a B1G body (pun intended) and is a great defensive player. Offense will need to be devolped. But as other are saying in this thread we dont need scorers. We need bodies that can bang underneath and protect the basket.
  23. Huge shot blocker.....Coach says averages 10 points 8 boards 7 blocks a gam (roughly).....gaining huge high mid major interest currently.....stock is sky rocketing........current coach contacted Nebraska becasue he went here and was a student manager for Danny Nee, and his dad currently teaches here
