  1. Well, I mean, why wouldn't they be??? It's pretty clear that Barfknecht and probably Rosenthal both do. Pavelka does, even posts here from time to time. So does McKewon. Does that creep you out? No, it makes me quite proud of the company I keep. ++++ Not at all - never been prouder of HHC, and All it's denizens (well, except for maybe a curmudgeon or two ) It's the best BB Board in the State! I thank HB for steering me onto this site (that's right, you can all blame it on HB - sorry Norm, you've been supplanted as scapegoat ) Hey, Red Don, you damn me in one paragraph (I've been told I was a curmudgeon before I was 30), and praise me in the other! Seriously, you are very welcome, and have been a great addition to a great site. Keep those posts coming.
  2. I'm currently sending enough for all of us.....
  3. Jimmy, since you brought it up: Believe it or not David Anwar is not with Doc at Southern Miss. He is an assistant at North Texas, working for another former Husker assistant, Tony Benford.
  4. Leaving for a head coaching job would be totally acceptable. Leaving to be an assistant elsewhere right now would be devastating.
  5. I said previously after recent recruiting success that keeping Kenya Hunter was imperative. It is even more so now. Pay the man. Do whatever it takes.
  6. I like Miles' other tweet also: "OK. I think it's time to change my phone number". A sense of humor is certainly a requirement of this job.
  7. There is a cloud that follows Nebraska basketball around. There just is.
  8. This I would be floored if he ended up here. He has to end up here. Norm has already put him in his "Experience Returning" thread on the main board.
  9. Row 6 is The Man indeed.
  10. Completely disagree that the game was waaay more physical in the 80s. I would compare some old 80s film and see if screens were set like they are today; I believe they were not (and for those who think the NBA has gone all soft on physicality, review some of the screening from last night's game). I do agree with Dean's comments on AAU ball and fundamentals, but believe that the body type of players is way different than it was in the 80s and the game is more physical now.
  11. Time outs to the front court = NBA =Bad. Hope the amplified music doesn't turn it into a Stars hockey game. Signed, Grumpy old guy
  12. From a competitiveness standpoint, yes. From a basketball standpoint, not so much. I mourn over what has happened to pervert the game of basketball.
  13. Looks long, lean & underrated, and the following article (from April '15) seems to indicate the "underrated" won't last for long... Wonder if his father Greg Floyd Sr. was a hoopster of any acclaim??? http://lasvegassun.com/news/2015/apr/25/desert-pines-sophomore-getting-bigger-recruiting-w/ I'm shocked the Nike lovers on here haven't weighed in with the take that we have no chance at this guy due to that yellow t-shirt....
  14. Of course. We fret about everything related to Husker hoops. It's our job.
  15. That sounds like Eustachy or Floyd. I agree with you on being floored. I would still keep an eye on Hornacek.
  16. Hornacek's name coming up quite a bit in discussions. I always liked him as player.
  17. Congrats, Noah. Well done.
  18. Moving the ball to the front court on a time out is pure and utter communism. And the 24 second clock is an abomination. Go ahead and ruin the game, what the hell.
  19. He's very good, but he's 6-5 or so and a post player. He's going to be a terrific high school player, but his college choices will be limited by his size. Looks pretty mature so I doubt he'll grow much. The curse of the hairy legs.
  20. Hey, everyone is entitled to a bad century every now and then....
  21. I know this is tongue-in-cheek post but I think we see another school paying us to buy out Miles before we have to pay Miles to leave. So you mean to tell me there is a difference between extending the contract of a coach who had a top 4 finish in his first four years and a NCAA appearance rather than extending(that was no biggie) a coach AND DOUBLING HIS BUYOUT(LOL) a year removed from going 2-14 in the Big 12 and just a couple NIT appearances? Only to fire that same coach the next year? Interesting. Has anyone read that this extension doubles Miles buyout? Very subtle, 13. So, what do you think of Dr. Osborne?
  22. Michigan wins the Big 10 tournament. Who would have thought there would be such a reversal of fortunes after we swept Michigan the opening weekend of Big 10 play. Did not see our epic collapse coming at that point. Michigan gets swept and rights the ship. We get swept at Maryland and were never the same.
  23. Certainly looks bleak at this point.
